3/21

Beechwood

Win

4-0

Lloyd

HITTING Ryle: 2-3, 2 RBI, HR, 2B; McCabe - SF
LEADERS:
RECAP: Raiders open season with impressive 4-0 shutout of the Beechies, behind a solid 5-inning pitching
effort from Lloyd, who did not allow runner to reach 3B. Scoreless game was broken open in 3rd
on a Tiger error and then Conner Ryle mashed a two-run bomb over the RF fence.  Fulmer throws
two scoreless innings in relief and Ryle played rock solid defense. Nice start to the season.

3/22

Newport Catholic

Win

4-3

Webster

HITTING Clarkson: 2-4, 2 R, 2B; Alstott: 2-3, 2B; Burnett: SF RBI
LEADERS:
RECAP: Raiders run record to 2-0 with 4-3 win over NCC.  Webster goes five outstanding innings, allowing
only one run in the 5th.  Leonhart pitches scoreless 6th. Ryle closes door on 7th inning comeback
to earn the save.  Raiders score 2 runs in 3rd inning on Alstott base hit, one run in 4th on Burnett
SF and an unearned run in 5th.  Raiders tally 9 hits in all and again play solidly in field.

3/23

Boone Cty

Win

4-0

Tarvin

HITTING Ryle: 2 RBI; Lloyd: 2-4, RBI; Burnett - 2B
LEADERS:
RECAP: Things started a bit shakey for Tarvin on the mound, as he walks 3 in the 1st but escapes without
giving up a run. Raiders get 3 runs in 3rd on a 2-run single by Conner Ryle and a Boone error,
then add a run in 4th on Lloyd's RBI single. Story of the game was Tarvin and Inabnit combining
for a no-hitter.  Raider defense is solid once again and throw out another runner stealing.

3/26

Moeller

Loss

11-4

Lloyd

HITTING Burnett: 2B,  2 RBI; Ryle; 2-4; Toepfert: 2-3
LEADERS:
RECAP: Raiders faced off against a very strong Moeller team on the Riverfront Field at Blue Ash Park.
Things started well for 2 1/2 innings, as the Raiders took a 4-0 lead thanks in part to a 2-run
double by Burnett. Lloyd breezed through Crusader lineup in first two innings, but the 3rd inning
proved troublesome, with a couple walks, hits, and Ryle error allowing 6 runs. Moeller continued
to add to the lead, while the Raiders could not get much else going offensively.  Ryle limited to
4 runs for the 4th straight game, something that will need to be improved upon.

3/29

Elder

Loss

5-2

Webster

HITTING Burnett: 2-4
LEADERS:
RECAP: JV faces another tough GCL opponent.  Evan Webster gets start and pitches extremely well,
allowing one earned run and four hits in five innings.  Unfortuantely, Raider fielding miscues allow
2 unearned runs in the 2nd and 4th innings and stake Panthers to a 5-0 lead. Ryle picks up single
runs in the 5th (Lloyd RBI single) and 6th (Tarvin RBI ground out), but it wasn't enough.

3/30

Dixie Heights

Win

13-3

Tarvin

HITTING Scanlon: 2-4, 2B, 2 R, 2 RBI; Lloyd: 2-4, 2 R; Burnett: 2B; Ryle: 2 RBI; Tarvin: 2-2, 2B; Toepfert: 2-2; Fulmer: 2 RBI
LEADERS:
RECAP: Raiders back on winning trail with run rule win over Dixie.  Dixie opens up game with 3 runs off
Tarvin in 1st, but Ryle responds with 5 runs in bottom half. Tarvin pitches three scoreless frames
from there and Raiders add to lead with 4-run 3rd inning, thanks to four BB's and HBP by Dixie.
3Ryle gets 3 more in 5th to end the game. Three doubles in game for Ryle hitters.

 4/2

Cooper

Win

2-1

Ryle

HITTING Toepfert: 2-4; Leonhart: 2-4, GW RBI
LEADERS:
RECAP: Exciting 9-inning game. Cooper scores a run in the 1st and score holds at 1-0 until 6th when Raiders
scores a run.  Teams trade zeroes until the 9th when Tarvin singles, steals second base, and scores
on Leonhart's single.  Roberts gets first start of year and throws 4 solid innings, allowing one run.
Fulmer throws 3 1/3 scoreless (5 K's) and Conner Ryle finishes 1 2/3 innings to earn the win.

4/2

Cov Cath

Loss

23-10

Lloyd

HITTING Tarvin: 2-2, 2 RBI;
LEADERS:
RECAP: An absolutely ugly loss for the Raiders in the second game of the day.  Conditions were dreadful
with wind gusts of 50 mph, but were not the reason for this loss.  Raiders' pitching gives up 20
hits and 4 walks and defense allows 7 errors. Tied 2-2 after two innings, Colonels score 8 runs in
3rd and 9 runs in 4th to blow game open. Ryle plates 8 runs in 4th to make score somewhat close.

4/5

Holy Cross

Win

5-1

Inabnit

HITTING Burnett: 2-3, 2 R; Toepfert: 1-1, 2B, 2 BB, 2 RBI, 2 SB;
LEADERS:
RECAP: Down 1-0 after 3 1/2 innings, Ryle takes 3-1 lead on 2-run double by Toepfert and RBI groundout by
Clarkson. Raiders tack on two more runs in the 5th when Lloyd walks and Burnett singles and both
score on a Holy Cross error.  Inabnit throws 6 strong innings, allowing 7 hits and fanning 4, while
walking only one  Conner Ryle strikes out the side in the 7th inning to preserve the win.

 4/6

Boone County

   Win

12-2

   Webster

HITTING Lloyd: 2-3, 2B, 3 R; Burnett: 2 R, 2 RBI; Tarvin: 2 RBI; Toepfert: 2 R, 2 BB; Ryle: 3-3, 5 RBI; Scanlon: 2B
LEADERS:
RECAP: Raiders' bats finally come alive to enable second victory over Rebels this season.  Webster is
dominant on the mound despite holwing winds blowing straight out, allowing only 2 runs (0 ER),
while striking out 6. Raiders break open game in 3rd on RBI's by Burnett, Lloyd, and Ryle, and
end game on run rule in 5th on hits by Lloyd and Ryle (3 RBI).

Cov Cath

Loss

4-3

Ryle

HITTING Tarvin: 2-3; Ryle: 2 BB; Webster: 2-3, 2 RBI
LEADERS:
RECAP: Tough last inning loss for the Raiders. Conner Ryle throws a gem of a game, allowing only
earned run on five hits.  Unfortunately, the Raider defense had four errors, with each one
contributing to a Colonel run.  Raiders were up 3-1 after 3 innings on Webster's 2-run single
but CCH evened the scored in the 5th, then scored on a walk-off single in the 7th.

4/9

Dixie Heights

Win

7-2

Fulmer

HITTING Burnett: 1-3, 2 R; Ryle: 2-4; Toepfert: 2-4, 2B; Maddox: 1-1, RBI
LEADERS:
RECAP: Outstanding first start of the season for Fulmer, who goes 6 innings and allows only two
runs (1 earned) and 5 Ks. Raiders break open scoreless game in 4th on RBI singles by Ryle
and suicide bunt by Webster.  Raiders tack on more runs in each of next 3 innings, with
McCabe and Toepfert providing key RBI singles.

4/12

Male

Loss

6-3

Webster

HITTING Lloyd: 2-3
LEADERS:
RECAP: Raiders last inning rally falls short, as there was simply too much ground to make up with
Male leading 6-0.  Webster pitches six strong innings, but once again defensive miscues
provide Male with unearned runs. Raiders are blanked until the 7th, when Reece and Scanlon
single and Male walks/HBP 4 straight hitters. Unfortunately, big hit never came.

4/13

Simon Kenton

Loss

5-2

Roberts

HITTING None
LEADERS:
RECAP: Hitting woes continue for Raiders, as they can only muster two singles for the entire game
and score their two runs compliments of Pioneer wild pitches. Roberts goes 5 strong innings
in relief, allowing only one run (unearned) on 4 hits.  Score was tied 2-2 after 2 innings, but
SK scores 1 in 4th and 2 in 6th to put game out of reach.

4/14

Beechwood

Win

9-3

Tarvin

HITTING Lloyd: 2-3; Tarvin: 2-3, 2B, 3 R; Toepfert: 2-3, 2 2B, 2 R, 2 RBI
LEADERS:
RECAP: Bats finally come alive as Raiders defeat Beechies for second time this season.  Tarvin
astruggles a bit in first inning, then settles down for next 3 innings. Raiders score 2 runs
in 2nd and 4 more in 3rd to take 6-1 lead. Leonhart earns save with 3 innings of solid relief,
allowing 1 run (unearned) on just one hit. Toepfert knocks two doubles with 2 RBI.

4/15

New Cath

Win

Ryle

HITTING Burnett: 2-3, 2 R, 2 RBI; Tarvin: 2-3, 2 RBI
LEADERS:
RECAP: Raiders knock off NCC behind solid pitching from Conner Ryle (4 INN, 2 R) and Inabnit
(3 INN, 1 R).  Raiders score two runs in first on Tarvin single and 3 more in 4th on Toepfert
sac fly, Burnett single, and NCC error to go up 5-1. Inabnit relieves in 5th inning with bases
loaded and no out and limits NCC to one run.  Ryle tacks on 4 more in 6th inning.

4/16

Lafayette

Loss

9-6

Fulmer

HITTING Lloyd: 2-4, 2 R; Scanlon: 2B, 2 RBI
LEADERS:
RECAP: Not the prettiest game for the Raiders, as walks, errors, and limited offense leads to
loss in game that could have been won.  Down 3-0, Ryle ties game in 4th on Leonhart
single and Clarkson sac fly, but then give up 3 unearned runs in 5th. Raiders get 2 runs
back on Scanlon double, but allow 3 more to Layfayette next inning to stall comeback.

4/18

Conner

Loss

7-6

Lally

HITTING Scanlon: 2B; Lloyd: 2-3, 2 R

Down 3-0, Raiders get 4 runs in 3rd on RBI's by Ryle, Leonhart, Webster, and McCabe.
Cougars tie game in 4th, Raiders get one in 5th, Cougars get 2 in bottom of 5th, and
then Raiders tie game in 6th on Conner error.  Cougars score unearned run in bottom of 6th to go up 7-6. Raiders put first two batters on in 7th, but can't push tying run across.

4/19

New Cath

Win

3-2

Tarvin

HITTING Raiders get but two hits, both singles (Tarvin and Burnett)
LEADERS:
RECAP: Tarvin pitches complete game, allowing only two last-inning runs while limiting NCC to 4
hits and fanning 5.  Raiders get single run in first inning on a Conner Ryle RBI groundout.
Game is then scoreless for next four innings as Tarvin and NCC pitcher throw darts. Ryle
gets 2 big runs in 6th inning on Tarvin groundout and Burnett single. and hold off NCC in 7th.

4/20

Cov Cath

Loss

8-7

Fulmer

HITTING Burnett: 2-3, 2B, 2 R; Toepfert: 2-4; McCabe: 2-3, 2B, 2 RBI
LEADERS:
RECAP: Tough loss for orange and black. Tied 4-4 after 3 innings, Raiders score 2 runs in 6th on
McCabe and Lloyd RBI singles and one in 7th on Toepfert RBI single to go up 7-4. Things fall
apart in bottom of 7th, however, as two walks, a bad umpire call, and four CCH base hits allows Colonels to walk off with a 8-7 win.  Great overall effort by Raiders nonetheless.
