Update as of September 6, 2009
Regarding FALL BALL:
This year, Youth Baseball of Reading, Inc.'s Fall Program is designed to provide children the opportunity to play baseball in a relaxed controlled atmosphere. There will be 1 practice and 1 game per week. Practice will take place during the weekday evenings and games will be on Saturdays. This is a great opportunity for children to play baseball for the fun of it and work on their fielding and hitting skills.
This is a pitching machine league at all levels. Games will be played at Hunt Memorial Park and Barrows Elementary School. As long as Weather Permits, the season will run from September 21 to November 21. Children are divided into 3 groups: 7-8 year old division, 9&10 year old division and 11 & 12 year old division. We are expectiving 2 to 6 teams per division.
Please Note: Your child is now considered the next year up in age. (For example: If you played 8 Year Old Baseball in spring & summer, you are now at the 9 year old level.) AGE IS DETERMINED AS OF APRIL 30, 2010. ELIGIBLE PLAYERS MUST BE BORN BETWEEN MAY 1, 1997 AND APRIL 30, 2003 (7-12 years of age). Children who have not previously played Reading Youth Baseball must provide a copy of child's birth certificate.
Registration fee, $35 per child, $100 family maximum.

Update as of August 2, 2009;
Regarding Little League / Cal Ripken:
Youth Baseball of Reading (YBR) during the 7/27 Board of Directors (BOD) meeting voted to not affiliate with either Cal Ripken or Little League for the 2010 season. There is a lot of new blood in the BOD and we felt it we would be making an uninformed decision were we to join either organization. It is YBR's intention to review and revise the Bylaws and Rules where necessary for 2010 and reevaluate affiliating with either league in 2011.
Regarding YBR Web Site:
During the 2009 season no one was satisfied with YBR's website. Consequently YBR is conducting a thorough review of its options and expects to go live with a new web site by the end of October. Our goal is to provide YBR officers, its managers, the parents, and the players"one stop shopping" for YBR information and communication.
