Raritan Valley National Adult Baseball Association: My Site News: SOX TAKE FALL BALL TITLE! DOWN A's 2-0

Sunday, November 9

Jairo Mendez threw shutout ball for nine innings and knocked in two runs for Kearny as the Sox captured the Fall Ball Crown

There's no truth to the rumor that they dropped the 'White' from their name before they went from worst to first, but like their MLB counterparts, the Rays, our Kearny White Sox went from having the worst record in the league to representing their division in the Championship Game.

Unlike the Rays however, the Sox were able to seal the deal with a neat one-hit, 2-0 shutout over the Liberty A's at Free Union Field. Garnering just one win in each of the last two seasons the White Sox improved to a 7-3 record this season, which earned them second place in the National Division. They upended the 3rd place Sayreville Giants 10-5 in round one of the playoffs before upsetting the Midtown Blue Ducks 11-4 in the division final.

Congratulations to the Kearny White Sox - 2008 RVNABA Fall Ball Champs!
