Raritan Valley National Adult Baseball Association: My Site News: REDS ARE 'A LEAGUE' CHAMPS! CLIPPERS TAKE STATE TITLE!

Tuesday, October 7

The Middlesex Reds completed their improbable storybook season with a Championship  - the first in their fourteen year history. With a seven run eighth they turned a 7-6 nailbiter into a 14-6 rout in game three against the East Brunswick Dodgers. For your consideration: the Reds are the first league champions to finish the regular season with a sub-.500 season (9-10); they wrapped up the fourth and final playoff spot on the final weekend of play; all three post season series went the full three games; they won one extra inning game in each of those series. More details on their exciting wins in game two and three will be posted soon.

Last Saturday, in Trenton, the NJ Clippers bested the Tri-State Titans  - champions of the Tri State NABA- 10-5 to bring home the state title for the AA League. This was the first state title game since 2002, which the RVNABA also won courtesy of the Irvington Cardinals. More details to follow on this as well.
