Hughes Community Center
The Hughes Center was built in 1966, and was named for Claude Allen Hughes, Mayor of Russellville from 1962 to 1968. The Hughes Center is open to the public Monday through Saturday each week.
Hours of operation are:
Monday 7:00 am - 8:00 pm
Tuesday 7:00 am - 8:00 pm
Wednesday 7:00 am - 5:00 pm
Thursday 7:00 am - 8:00 pm
Friday 7:00 am - 5:00 pm
Saturday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
The Arkansas State Police normally give drivers test at the Hughes Center on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Written test starts at 8:00 am and road test at 1:00 pm.
No road test are given during hazardous weather conditions. For driver's test
information contact the Arkansas State Police at 479-754-3096.
Russellville Recreation and Parks Administrative Office
The office for the Recreation and Parks Department is located in the Hughes Center. All reservations
for park facilities must be made during business hours at this office. The office phone number is
968-1272. No reservation can be taken over the phone.
Russellville Recreation and Parks Department is a member of the National Recreation and Parks
Association, the Arkansas Recreation and Parks Association, and the Russellville Chamber of
Commerce.
Weight Room Memberships
The Hughes Center features a weight room with Universal equipment, bikes, stepper, treadmill, sauna, and various free weights. Memberships are $15 monthly with no obligations. The weight room is available to use when the building is open to the public (see Hughes Center Hours).
Gymnasium
The Hughes Center has a full basketball court and two side courts that are open free of charge to the public to play basketball during regular hours. The gym area and kitchen are available to rent for large parties.

Meeting Rooms
There are several meeting rooms available to rent at the Hughes Community Center. Seating capacity ranges from 15 to 72. Rental fees from $10 to $15 per hour apply. Contact the office at 479-968-1272 for more information.
