Blaze 98
The Texas Blaze is one of the fastest growing and competitive select fastpitch softball programs in Central Texas. Our players learn valuable life skills including teamwork, dedication, sportsmanship and goal achievement. The Blaze organization is committed to helping our players develop their skills on and off the field and prepare them for the possibility of playing at the collegiate level. The Blaze began the tournament after opening ceremonies on Friday night with a resounding win over the Angleton Coastal Bombers. An early Saturday morning loss against the Pearland Power put the Blaze in the loser’s bracket and their backs were firmly implanted against the wall. From this point, the Blaze went on to win seven consecutive elimination games. One by one they eliminated the likes of Barbers Hill Elite, Pearland Pride, League City Havoc, Alvin Rage, Angleton Stars, and Clute Texas Heat in the sweltering heat to advance to the final four of the tournament. The Blaze finally ran out of gas in their fifth game on Sunday to finish 4th in the 61 team field.
Congratulations go out to the Blaze 98’ for an awesome tournament performance and for being the first 8U team to place in an ASA state tournament from District 18.
