Roy Hobbs Oak Lawn Baseball: League Meeting Notes

3. The top 4 teams in both divisions will make the "A" playoff.  The bottom two teams in each division will play in a "B" playoff.

4. There were a couple of rule changes:

A.  It is no longer mandatory to run for your catcher when he  is on base and there are two out.

B.  Games stopped by rain before 5 innings have been played or 4.5 innings if the home team is leading will be treated as a suspended game and the game will resume from the point it was stopped the next time the two teams meet.

C.  The 38+ and 48+ voted to keep the courtesy runner rule at 3 which is unchanged from 2008.

D.  The 21+ voted to change the courtesy runner rule.  They have voted to adopt the National Roy Hobbs rule.  I will provide a more detailed explanation of this rule later. 

5.  Teams requesting that games not be scheduled on specific days or dates should e-mail those requests to rhol@att.net

6.  Opening day - weather permitting - should be Sunday, April 19th.

7.  The next league meeting will be Thursday, March 19th at 730pm.  A substantial amount of the league fee must be turned in at this meeting.  Any teams not paying their entire league fee will not be allowed to play any games until the fee is paid in full.  NO EXCEPTIONS.
