Roxbury Gaels High School Girls Soccer: My Site News: Regular Season Game 13: Roxbury 1 Morristown 0 - Another Shut-out!!

The 13^th regular season game, close to Halloween, turned out to be a great end to a losing streak.  As most Morristown games of the past, the game was a defensive struggle as the first half on a wet and slippery field ended 0 – 0.  The second half saw a more dominating Roxbury team keeping the ball in the Morristown end.  The parents on the sideline were getting cold and a little wet so the thought of an overtime game was not a pleasant one. 

As shots again went high and wide Jess Musmanno took the ball around several of the middle defenders and shot a bullet at the goal.  The goalie was positioned perfectly, but wasn’t able to hold on to it and it bounced off to the right where a streaking and an all alone Jen DiGioia was collecting the ball.  Two steps later she crossed it back to the goal with a perfect shot to the waiting Cori Younghans who was able to head it into the left side of the goal.  1 – 0 Roxbury with the scoring coming in the 78^th minute!  Stacey Miller and the defense racked up another shut-out, number 8 of the season.
