Carotenuto gets 2nd Rowan Athlete of the Week---for Super performance at CTCs!!!
Karo, a soph, won the 1 mile in 4:18.24, anchored the 4 x  800 to a win, & anchored the DMR to a win.  Wesleyan University was the site of these exploits.  Karo had his best day as a PROF.

CTCs Team Indoor Champions: 2nd consecutive! Indivi Champs= 1 mile + 5000; 4 relay Champs!

Wesleyan University, Middletown, NJ: Eric DuBois sets the tone with a fast paced win in the 5000....followed shortly by a 1-2 win in the 1 mile [Mike Carotuento-4:18.27 and #2 Ron Rawls-fr-4:18.42]  Rowan also won the 4 x 200 [Taylor, Guilford,Purdue, Maxwell]; DMR = [Rawls, Guilford, DuBois, & Carotenuto]; 4 x 800 [M. Lewis, J. Spector, D. Quimby, M. Carotenuto] and a meet ending 4 x 400 [Maxwell, Purdue, Ejaz, Rooks]  they won by 6 sec.---Wesleyan U. has a flat, 200 track! CTC pont scorers:  60m- B. Taylor=5th,  200m-2nd Ejaz.... Maxwell 4th, Rooks 2nd 400m, 500 McGriff  = 7th, 800m- MikeLewis-4th---- D. Quimby-7th; 1000m J. Spector = 6th; 3000m 2nd/3rd = 'the Hoff' and Wolmark5000m Tauriello = 7th;  HJ = Mineo, 7th;  Visconti- SP = 5th;  D-z-PV =2nd, tie breaker!   GO  PROFS!!!!!

Rooks NJAC Track Athlete of the Week + Phil. Sports Writers Association 2011 Award winner

Newark, DE:  For his monster runs in the Open 400 + his anchor leg on the 4 x 4, Demetrius is this weeks NJAC Track AOW.

GOLD MEDALS to 4 x 4, 4 x 8, Rooks-400, Karo-1000m, Dubois-1 mile + more

Newark, DE:  The PROFS light up the fieldhouse as they picked up the following golds--4 x 800 [DuBois, Spector, Lewis, Carotenuto-great anchor leg]; 4 x 400 [Maxwell, Purdue, Ejaz, the BEAST-aka Rooks]; Rooks 400; 1 mile = DuBois; Carotenuto = 1000m.....silvers--- Ali in 200m....  ALL RECEIVED GOLDS!!!!  Guiseppe received a silver in the HJ

Our guy, Karo, hauled in the Rowan AOW award today to go along with NJAC AOW......wow that is a lot of hardware to get ..........but Mike did kick down a 1:50.X guy in the mile.

Rowan Men wins Collegeville Classic--Rooks-400; Karo-1 mile;Rawls-1K; DMR; D-z PV = 1st
We got 4 1st and a host of ranking from www.tfrrs.com for a total of 94 points ----there was a 3-way tie for 2nd with 67 points

Coach Norm Tate, T & F, picked as a USA team Coach for the IAAF World Indoor Championships in Istanbul, Turkey
More to come on this fantastic announcemnt----Well Done Norm....they certainly picked the best MAN for this JOB.  The World Championships will take place on March 9 - March 12, 2012 in Istanbul, Turkey in the Sinan Erdem Dome. The Dome gets its name from the President of Turkey's Olympic Committee from 1989-2003. This Dome is one the European side of Istanbul and is one of the finest indoor facilities in Europe.  The Dome opened in 4/2010.  Coach Tate was also coach of a USA {5 Nations International Indoor Championships} that competed in Glasglow, Scotland at the end of the indoor season in 2010.

Oscar Moore[retired GSC T&F Coach] inducted into the National Coaches Hall of Fame
Coach Fritz presented Coach Moore with the award at a very high class affair in Orlando, FL.   In fact, Fritz was seen on his 19th floor balcony, prior to program the  working on his 'tan.'  The duo had their pics taken with an interesting bunch of T & F people over the course of the evening.
