Tuesday, September 12 ROWAN UNIVERSITY PROFS: X-C + TRACK & FIELD
Academically Rowan University is in a rural setting and has many unique advantages. Because of its smaller size, advising & tutorial services are more individualized & readily available than those at larger universities. In addition almost all classes are taught by professors, not teaching assistants or graduate students. The average class size is only 25. Students with learning disabilities receive individual consideration and thorough support from advocates within Rowan's Specialized Services Department. Rowan University is comprised of an impressive array of 8 colleges: College of Business, College of Communications, College of Education, College of Engineering, College of Fine & Performing Arts, College of Liberal Arts & Sciences and College of Professional & Continuing Education and The Graduate School. Currently Rowan is embarking upon a $270 Million building program over the next 5 years affecting all academic areas. Although Rowan is already a bargain to attend, generous Financial Aid packages are readily available. Financial Aid is based upon the FAF or Federal Aid Forms that you must submit between January and June (the earlier the better), and is determined by family need. You cannot lose your Financial Aid unless your family's financial situation changes radically, and unlike most scholarships, it is virtually guaranteed for four years. An athletic grant in Track and Field is rare(12.6=men/18=women at any one time) which comes out to about 2-4 per class in colleges that are fully funded. Also despite popular belief these grants are subject to annual review, evaluation and most importantly renewal. These facts, among many others, are solid reasons to choose an NCAA III university...especially Rowan University. One final thing to consider...should you get a 'partial' grant be sure & do the math to see how much money you will owe when the bill comes due. Then compare your obligation to the cost of attending an outstanding institution like Rowan University. Coach Fritz's coaching philosophy stress academic achievement, developing good work habits, and competing with passion. Another important ingredient is having fun and enjoying the entire intercollegiate athletic experience. At Rowan each athlete is taken at whatever level they are on with a long term view towards development to ensure longevity in the sport. Bill Fritz, Coach XC/T&F(indoor & outdoor) men & women fritz@kwiknet.net 856/256-4683(off) 856/461-7702(fax) Wednesday, May 21 Sean Corey, soph, #1 Jav.Man in country wins NCAA Atlantic Region Field Ath. of the Year---receives Award at Banquet in Wisc.
