Prime Time Rollers Track Meet @ Shoemaker HS (Killeen) on May 25th

Date: Saturday May 25th, 2013
Location: 3302 S Clear Creek Road, Killeen, TX 76549

Meet Schedule

Arrival Time: 9:00am (updated)
Meet Time: 8:00am (All athletes meet outside the gate)

Parents - there is a $5.00 entry for all spectators.

We will have tents on the ground at this meet (not in the stands); parents are welcome to sit with the team. Parents will not be allowed on the field for this meet or meets in the future. This is an AAU rule.

Items athletes need to bring:

  • Spikes
  • Running shoes
  • Warm-ups
  • Sunblock
  • Sleeping bag or blanket
  • Water
  • Fruit
  • Sack lunch

Please remember to have your children drink plenty of water starting on Friday and no milk products on Saturday morning.

First-time track meet parents: (Thanks Chris) If you haven't attended a summer track meet before, just a few things from someone who has done this for a number of years:

  • It should be in the low 90s and humid. This makes for a long track meet, so lots of fluids, fruit, sandwiches, and shade help. Concessions are usually available, but except for water and Gatorade, it is best to wait until after your athlete's last event to enjoy them.
  • If you have a canopy or umbrella, you may want to bring it. We try to keep our athletes out of the sun while they aren't running. And you'll probably need it, too! :-) Depending on the location, your own lawn chair may also come in handy (stadium seats get hard through the day).
  • Field and distance events start earlier than running events; just be aware there may be a few hours between the time you arrive and the time your athlete runs their first race.
  • We stay for the entire meet to support all our athletes. A good cheering section does wonders for everyone.
  • Celebrate when it’s over! The first summer track meet for parents is always an eye-opening experience, so we hope this helps. If you have questions, feel free to ask any of us!
We look forward to seeing on Saturday to help cheer our team to VICTORY!!!

Summer Track Practices Started

Location: Cedar Ridge High School Track Field, 2801 Gattis School Rd Round Rock, TX 78664.

Make sure the athlete wears running shoes and has plenty of water for practice.

Registration forms can be printed off the website and we also need a copy of the athlete's birth certificate for new athletes.

Please be mindful that Coach Calvin works at night and sleeps during the day. If you have questions, please send your request by email.

Our first track meet is scheduled for May 11th and information will be posted the week of the meet. If we do not yet have unforms, the athletes will wear the team t-shirt and royal blue shorts. We have some shorts for purchase ($10.00) and also have a few uniforms. Track shoes/spikes are worn for the meets and can be purchased at local sports stores or ordered online. If registration fees are not paid, the athlete will not participate in either practices or meets.

The spectator fee for practice meets is generally $5.00 per peron. The qualifying meets are more expensive; we will provide that information as we get closer to those dates.
