2007 Rough Cut Baseball League Ground Rules
1. Everything inside the park is playable with the exception of balls that go on top of the first base dugout. Balls off the front of the dugouts are playable. 2. Holes under the fence have been minimized as much as possible, but still exist. If a ball goes under the fence, or becomes lodged in or under the fence, have your fielder raise his hands immediately and the umpire will come out to verify the problem. If your fielder touches the ball or removes it, the ball becomes a live ball. The offensive team should not stop the runners - the umpires can put the runners back, but will not award bases. 3. There is a swinging gate leading into the neutral ground. This gate will not be there when games are being played on the adjacent field. When this gate is not there, it is still assumed to exist. No fielders should pursue balls into the neutral ground area between fields, as all balls in this area are dead. 4. Criteria for warming-up pitchers in foul territory during the game has been outlined at the league meeting. Pitchers on the third base side should warm-up outside the fence. Pitchers on the first base side should warm-up along the fence along right field, with the pitcher facing home plate and with the catcher out of sight behind the fence, near the neutral ground. 5. On-deck batters must remain behind the batter in the batters box. Please ask your players to warm-up on the rubber mats provided and stay off the grass aprons as much as possible. 6. Please ask your players to use the approach lanes for the batters when shaking hands at the conclusion of games. Please do not cross the infield in front of the pitchers mound to shake hands. |
