Hello... and Welcome to the Home of the 10U Roswell Jr. Hornets Baseball Club

The 2009 season has ended and the team exceeded their goals for the year.  We competed in the Lanier Baseball League and won over 2/3 of our games, having played 19 games throughout the Spring, before playing in the League Championship Tournament.  We also competed in 6 other tournaments toward the end our regular season (results shown below).

The team will not be playing in the Fall of 2009, but will resume in the Spring of 2010.  If you are interested in trying out for next year's team... please sign-up at www.roswellgov.com (program # 3034-1) as tryouts will be held in late July and early August.  Next year's team will be playing 11U AAA baseball and we are looking for players.

We will begin practicing in January, with our annual Indoor BOOT CAMP starting on Monday, January 18th and ending on Monday, February 15th.  We will practice and play out of Roswell Area Park's Field #4.  We plan to play ~20 League games and 5 to 7 tournaments (primarily when school is out) and end by Independance Day.

We plan to play at Cooperstown Dream Park in 2011, having already secured an invitation.

Jr. Hornets WIN USSSA Sub-State Tournament

The 10U Roswell Junior Hornets competed in the USSSA (United States Specialty Sports Association) Georgia Sub-State tournament in Ellijay, Georgia this past weekend and came away with a berth to the Georgia State Championship tournament at the end of June, by winning the tournament.

The Jr. Hornets played against some good competition, including the Dobbs Creek Warriors, the Acworth Storm, and the Johns Creek Mavericks.  The Peachtree Ridge Lions, NYO Red Hawks, and the Sharon Springs Blue also particpated in the tournament.

The team was number one in pool play, which allowed them a bye in the first games of bracket play.  The pitchers helped out, and the team gave up the fewest runs per game of the tournament.  Everyone on the team got key hits and/or RBIs when it mattered most, which allowed the team to continue to win in the late innings.

The Jr. Hornets are a first year travel team out of the Roswell Recreation & Parks Department and competed in the Lanier Baseball League this past season playing 19 games before beginning tournament play in the month of June.  Good Luck in the upcoming USSSA Georgia State Championship tournament at the end of the month Hornets.

Hornets Ranked 5th in the State of Georgia

The Hornets competed well amoung the 22 teams in the state who were invited to participate in the USSSA Georgia State Championship Tournament this year.  Each of the teams placed 1st or 2nd in a USSSA Sub-State Tournament earlier in the month, and were awarded their berths.  The team was down a few players and running out of pitching, but played six games before loosing on the final day of games.
