matt from colts&and
rose tree colts

Dear colts,
remember my first game and last game as a colt,In 1968 played on the 70 Lb.team for Colts founder "Chief"
Bill Hampton played at Paoli,we had a police escort for the caravan,Cheif Hampton had local P.D.'s block each major intersection to allow the MIGHTY ROSE TREE COLTS TO PASS THROUGH,I felt like royalty!
My last game took place in Nov 1971 115Lb. at the Naval Acadamy in Md.we defeated a team from Bowie Md. who were in a higher weight class than us.We won the game 7-0 to complete a perfect 10-0 season,we pitched 7 shutouts.
Head coach John Scala.
Older brother Jack also played on colts Champs who also travelled to Annapolis.
Also watched younger brother Luke play for 115LB.Bert Bell champs in 1974,season was topped off with a game at Convention Hall in Atlantic City(they sodded the convention floor).
Was able to be the P.A. announcer for the game, what a thrill!!
had done PA announcing for some time for colts as well as coached a few years.
My Colt memories are always close to my heart
Matty Heavens
