Teams should have at least eight players to start a game; however this division is about learning baseball and having fun. If a team has less than the minimum number of players, coaches should get together and work out a scrimmage or other baseball activity so that the kids that are present have a chance to play and have fun.

o   Games will start promptly at the scheduled start time.

o   If players arrive late, defensively they may be inserted into the game immediately or as the coach sees fit. Offensively, they shall be added to the end of the batting lineup as to not disturb the lineup.

o   Six innings will constitute a regulation league game.

o   -A game called because of bad weather or darkness shall be considered a regulation league game after four innings, three and a half if the home team is ahead.

o   -Each team will be limited to six runs per inning. After a team has reached six runs, they will take the field as if the third out had been recorded and the other team will then come to bat.

o   -No extra innings will be permitted. A game can end in a tie.

 Defense (playing the field)

- For safety purposes, a maximum of ten players are to be on the field for the defense at any one time. Each infield position will be filled with the remaining players up to the maximum of ten will be positioned in the outfield.

- Each player in attendance shall play at least three defensive innings.

- No adult shall play any defensive position at any time.

- An adult may back up the catcher only to retrieve pitched balls that may get past the catcher. That adult may then throw the ball back to the coach pitcher.

- A limit of two adult coaches may be positioned in the field to instruct defensive players where to play and where to throw the ball. These coaches shall be considered part of the playing field. If a ball inadvertently hits one of these coaches, the ball will be live and play will continue.

- The player pitcher must be positioned at least at the depth of the coach pitcher. The player pitcher may be positioned on either side of the coach pitcher.

- The coach pitcher shall be considered a part of the playing field. Same rules will apply that apply to defensive coaches.

- No coach shall intentionally interfere with any player or live ball on the playing field.

 Offense (batting)

-Coaches on the playing field for the batting team can consist of one coach pitcher, one back catcher, one first base coach, and one third base coach. No other adult should be on the field for the batting team.

- Every player in attendance shall bat even if they are not an active defensive player that inning. Every player will bat before the first player bats again. All batters must bat in the correct order.

- A maximum of ten pitches will be throw to a batter. If a batter fails to hit any of these pitches into fair territory, the batter will be called out. If the tenth pitch is fouled off, another pitch will be allowed and so on.

- While balls and strikes are not called, a batter can strike out swinging.

- There will be no walks permitted.

- There will be no free base awarded for a batter hit by a pitch.

- Bunting is not allowed.

- A batter shall not wildly throw the bat after hitting the ball. Players should be encouraged to drop the bat.

Offense (base running)

- A base runner may only advance when a ball is hit into fair territory.

- Stealing and leading off are not allowed. The base runner may only leave the base as the pitched ball crosses the batter. If the ball is not hit into fair territory, the base runner must return to the original base.

- A batter runner and base runners may advance as many bases as they wish on a ball hit to the outfield until the ball is thrown into and reaches the infield dirt, If a runner is between bases when this occurs, they will be permitted to continue to the base they were headed to unless they are tagged or forced out.

- No base runner may advance on an overthrow.

- Two base runners may not occupy the the same base simultaneously. The first runner that legally occupied the base is entitled to it. The second runner may be put out by being tagged unless they safely make it back to the preceding base. This is not an automatic out.

- If a base runner is struck by a ball batted into fair territory while off of a base, the runner is out, the ball is dead, and the batter is awarded first base.

As with any rules, common sense shall prevail. Safety, good sportsmanship, and fun should always be the main objective.
