Wednesday, August 9 REMINDER: Guidelines regarding images of children Recently, there has been instances where supporters have been taking photos or videoing juniors playing netball. Members of the Association had to approach these supporters and remind them of the Australian Sports Commission Guidelines regarding images of children. Please be aware that unless you have the permission of the parents of all the children involved in the photo/video, then you may not take images of other children that may be in the photo with your child. Please respect other people's privacy. The Netball Australia Junior Netball Policy also states regarding the taking of images of children: "Netball providers must be aware of the potential risks linked to the use of photographs/videos of young people in sport. Appropriate steps must be taken to ensure the acquisition or display of images containing young people are not misused or accessed by unauthorised personnel. Permission must be obtained from the young person’s parent/guardian prior to taking the image. Any information regarding the display of images must not be published unless prior consent has been granted by the parent/guardian. All personnel taking such images must be approved by the organisation and registered under the appropriate procedure."
