Summary of Juniors @ Western Regionals
WESTERN REGIONAL GAMES: On Tuesday, the 5.4 earthquake in the LA area didn't shake up our boys, who handily beat Oregon 11-1 in their first game in the Western Regionals. Gordy Gordon pitched all 5 innings (mercy rule), allowing Oregon only 4 hits. Then on Wednesday, they faced Washington. It again took just 5 innings for Rocklin to beat Washington, 10-0, with Home Runs from Carson Wittwer and Josh Robinson and a 2-hit pitching outing from Carson (click HERE for more game details). After a day off on Thursday, the RLL Juniors faced Montana on Friday, with another big win in 5 innings, 10-0, with Austin Dick on the mound pitching a complete game giving up only 3 hits (click HERE for more details). Then, on Sunday, in a tough game against Southern Cal, our Juniors' impressive run came to an end with an 18-8 loss (Click HERE for more info). So though they finished pool play with a 3-1 record, since tie breaker is based on runs against, giving up 18 bumped them out of the semi-finals. Southern Cal made it to the Championship game, but lost to Hawaii, so Hawaii will now represent the Western Region in the World Series.
