Vipers win into the Championship Game
After a false start last weekend, the Vipers have claimed their spot in the 2012 Gridiron West Championship Game. The Vipers seemed to have all three phases of their game working, and the offense consistently moved the ball, the defense smothers the Broncos explosive offence and the special teams set the offence and defense up in the best possible situations all day long.
The Vipers took the ball first and gained an early 8-0 lead, that they held through out the first half. The broncos had the ball to start the second half, but a fired up Vipers defense gave them nothing, and then the Vipers offence really hit it’s stride. The Vipers ran in three second half touchdowns, to put the game away 26-0.
The Vipers offence was led by Ben Gastarov making timely passes for 3rd down conversions, and Nate Lansdell who ran in three fo the Vipers touchdowns, and compiled more offence yards than any other player on the field. For the Vipers Defence, Jared Docen took two interceptions, and the DB’s kept the Broncos receivers hearing footsteps al game. The Vipers will now face the Perth Blitz in the grandfinal game this weekend.

Semi-Final replay This Saturday At 6pm
The Vipers vs Broncos Semi-Final will be replayed this Saturday at 6pm.
The Semi-Final needs to be replayed after the lights went out with 4 minutes 44 seconds left to play. The Grand Final has been moved back one week to allow for this replay to take place.
The Vipers were leading the game 24-16 at the time of the light failing, but the Broncos had driven into the Vipers territory and had 1st and 10 at the Vipers 11 yard line, a Touchdown and subsiquent 2 point conversion would have tied the score.
The Vipers would appreciate any and all support who can make it to Kingsway Reserve to watch this re-match, as it is sure to be an intense and hard fought battle to take a spot in the Grand Final.
