GAME AND COMPETITION SHOES
Game shoes should be all white with white laces. No shoes with any other colors or Velcro will be acceptable during games. If you are a returning cheerleader you can wear your competition shoes from last year. If you are a new cheerleader you will need a white pair of tennis shoes that meet the criteria for all games. You are allowed to wear any color tennis shoes for practice.
Competition shoes are available through Team Cheer. We’ve chosen the Reebok Sis Boom Rah II. We think this is a good quality shoe that won’t break the bank. The links for the youth and adult shoes are below. Please order your shoes soon to ensure you get a pair. This year it is up to you to order your competition shoes. If you are a new cheerleader you can purchase two pairs; one for games and one for competition. It is not required that you have two pairs of the Reebok shoe, just one for competition. Of course if you are a returning cheerleader you can purchase 2 pairs as well.

A Message From The Cheer Director
Cheers Rochester Redskins Cheerleaders & Families:
Welcome to the 2009 Rochester Redskins Cheer Season! We are very excited about the upcoming season and are hard at work planning fun and exciting things. The season for Cheer will begin Monday, August 10th so get your family vacations in before that time. Camp is Saturday, July 18th and Sunday, July 19th. Keep on the lookout for a flyer to sign up. It’s a great way to get back into the swing of cheering and some great teambuilding.
The “Required Sundries List” is posted on the website. This year you will only be required to purchase 1 pair of shoes for competition. It will be up to you to get another pair of white tennis shoes for games. You are more than welcome to purchase 2 pairs of cheer shoes from us, but it’s not mandatory, just the one pair for competition. We are coming up with some cute designs for cheer sundries, even for the Cheer moms and dads. It’s great way to promote your daughters and the organization.
Redskins’ Family Night is scheduled for Thursday, May 21st, 2009 at 7 pm in the Harrison Room at the Rochester Community Schools Administration Building. Usually this is for new families but we would love to see everyone. We will also have a Required Sundries Night to order all items for the new season. It will be sometime the first week of June. This will be the only time to order the required sundries in order to ensure delivery by the beginning of the season.
Make sure you have your physical form and all other required documents before the first day of practice. Remember you will not be able to start on August 10th unless we have a physical form and birth certificate on file.
