Riverview Little League: 2013 Divisions

Juniors
Ages 13-14 ***15
(As of April 30, 2013)
The Next Step - Junior League is the next step for players to advance their baseball careers. Junior League will be played on 90 foot bases with pitching at 60’6”; leading off and stealing is permitted. Players will try out and be drafted; no full team registration will be permitted.

***15 year olds may play, but are not eligible for All Stars

Majors
Ages 10-12
(As of April 30, 2013)
Competitive - The fundamentals are stressed for the kids playing at a higher level. Besides being competitive, Little League core values of respect, sportsmanship and team are taught. Majors are a great experience for all ballplayers. Players will try out and be drafted; all 12 year olds will be drafted to a Majors Team, non drafted players will be available to be drafted in AAA.


AAA
Ages 9-11 **8
(As of April 30, 2013)
Semi competitive - A great introduction to learning more skills for AA graduates. AAA provides a more competitive level that kids will love as well as a comfortable playing environment for the kids. Baseball fundamentals, sportsmanship and participation are all emphasized. Great for more experienced ball players. Players will try out and be drafted to a team. Any player who is not drafted will play AA.

** 8 year olds can play if they have played coach pitch and are drafted.


AA - Coach Pitch
Ages 7-8 *6
(As of April 30, 2013)
The next step up - Children are taken to a new level of play. Coach pitch makes the game fun and more enjoyable for all. Score will be kept and standings will be posted. This league will function just like the AAA level except for the fact that the coach will be pitching.

* 6 year olds have the option of playing up at the AA level if they've played at least 1 year in the A division and have demonstrated the ability to play at the next level.


A - T-Ball/Coach Pitch
Ages 5-6 *4
(As of April 30, 2013)
Tee Ball/Coach Pitch - Designed to be a child’s first introduction to baseball. FUNdamentals are emphasized. Safe and fun for all boys and girls. The fundamental rules and structure of the game will be taught and enforced including outs, runs etc. Players will have the opportunity to hit from a tee, or from pitches thrown by the Coach.

*4 year olds are eligible to play but parents are cautioned in pushing their child into baseball too soon. If you feel your 4 year old child is ready to play baseball, please contact us for more information.
