  DEVELOPMENT PLAN

DEVELOPMENT PLAN
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:
To clinch and maintain a berth in the Alberta Major Soccer League.

STRATEGIES FOR ACHIEVING OBJECTIVE:
1) Multi-team Men's Club System
Register one reserve team in addition to the regular team in order to allow the top team to recruit, train and seek Divisional championships. The reserve team would consist of less competitive players who still wish to remain affiliated with the main team and would allow for new recruits to prove themselves.
2) Women's Program
Register a Woman's team and utilize the same development tactics as for the men's team.
3) Youth Program
Explore partnerships with Community and/or Youth Clubs to allow for constant flow of younger talented players.
4) Technical Director
Sponsor a candidate's Coaching certification and employ him as Club Technical Director. That candidate would then be responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring training programs for the Men's, Women's and Youth systems. Emphasis on possession style of play with a high-tempo pressing defense and simple attacking triangle formations
5) Home Field Complex
Begin searching sites, designing plans and instituting a financial strategy to build a financially viable home field complex.

FIRST STEPS FOR IMPLEMENTATION:
1) Partnerships
Seek out partnerships with Edmonton businesses and organizations. Possible industries to be solicited include hospitality, financial services, automotive, etc. In return for financial donations, jersey advertising and discounts, team to offer itself for marketing, promotions and continued patronage.
2) Website
In order to have a central forum for communication, assist with partnerships and promote special projects, a website should be planned developed and maintained.
3) Club Name
Find a name that Edmontonians and sponsors can identify with.

TIMELINE
YEAR 1 - SUMMER 2004
-To assess the overall needs of the team in current division and begin implementation of the Club Development Plan.
YEAR 2 - SUMMER 2005
-To strengthen the team and finish first place in current division.
YEAR 3 - SUMMER 2006
-To securre the team's position in next division and strengthen it.
YEAR 4 - SUMMER 2007
-To finish first in next division.

EXTENDED TIMELINE
-To continue at a pace of two years maximum in each division until reaching the Premier division of EDSA. At that point the Club can then strengthen itself so it can bid for a place in the Alberta Major Soccer League - the Alberta Soccer Association's version of a semi-pro league.
   - To commence a women's program in the Summer of 2010, following the same format as the men's program.
   - To commence a youth/minor program in the Summer of 2012, with varying objectives depending on the age level. ie.developing a love for the game at the U-5 level, while developing individual skills at the U-13 level
-To secure a comprehensive sponsorship package, enabling the Club to continue its programs in a home field complex in the Summer of 2016.
