In 10 years, we've gone through one significant roster change, a merger with Estudiantes to create the shortlived but glorious Cascadia Morning FC and a demerger to return to sole ownership.
As we prepare for the upcoming 2008 Outdoor season, please check the Schedule Tab for this Season's Game Reports and at the bottom of this page for the weekly game report. As usual the EDSA will release the season schedule one week before our first game....MAY 4!

RIVER CITY EDMONTON - ROCK STARS
October 29, 2007
Southside Centre at 2145
The 2007/2008 Indoor Season started on an interesting note with all the players being registered on time for the first time since the inaugural season in 1999. With some new additions to the team, River City looked to start the campaign with the most talented squad ever assembled against the Rock Stars.
18 year old rookie Chris Baxter debuted between the posts with Satar Ahmet, Guhdar Saad, Ben Gelinas and John Omoyayi taking turns as the lone defender. Jose Correa, Matthew Buddle, Jakub Kucmierz, Rod Valdes and 17 year old Andrew Greenaway packed the midfield while Shivan Ahmad, Tom Luczkiewicz, Vager Rashid, Derek Van Diest, Zeravan Saad and Sergio Teixeira trolled around in the Rock Stars zone. The only absences were Juan Zuniga who came in at the half and MVP Azad Ismael who is in Kurdistan keeping in shape by running from Turkish artillery.
With only 2 practices with limited attendance before the start of the season and a new playing system, River City came out disorganized and quickly fell behind when the Rock Stars' Mark Raso scored. That lead though was not to last as River began to control the midfield and attack in numbers. We were duly rewarded with a run upfield from Satar Ahmet that resulted in the first River City goal of the season and more importantly, the equalizer. Shivan Ahmad would quickly add the second goal which proved to be the game winner. With mounting pressure and a free kick deep in the Rock Stars zone, Guhdar Saad made no mistake as he roofed his free kick straight into the net. Tom Luczkiewicz would add the fourth before the half.
The break gave River a chance to go over the tactical assignments and when the second half started, Shivan Ahmad would add a second goal followed by a yellow card which put the team shorthanded for 4 minutes of continuous play. With an exemplary defensive show, River killed the penalty and once again at full strength continued to dominate. Juan Zuniga netted one as did Matthew Buddle and back-up keeper Vager Rashid added the last one for the emphatic 8-1 victory.
Referee B. Chow did a good job and was ably assisted by Dan Zegarac. Sergio kept his composure and did not receive any cards today unlike Shivan Ahmad whose $20 fine for the yellow card is due prior to his next game.
RIVER CITY MOMENT OF THE MATCH
Jose Correa's 3 shots in a row followed by a point blank shot moments later that he could not pay to put in the net.
RIVER CITY PLAYERS OF THE GAME
River City - Chris Baxter who came up with some timely saves when the team was still finding its feet
Rock Stars - Keeper Ross Runyon who faced more balls than....nevermind...
