On Sunday, the MSL River Bandits looked to extend their winning streak to a season high three games as they take on the Bucs who come in with a 4 game winning streak.

On the mound for the River Bandits was tough lefty Rob Lowe, making his 2nd start of the season. Lowe had some control issues as he gave up 5 runs in 6 innings of work.

The offense continues to get quality at bats, working deep into counts, and as a result more runners on base. Eddy Gnadt had a season high 3 HBPs, adding to his lead in that category.

The game was finally put away as Alan Cardington stepped up to the plate in the 8th inning. He launched a liner over the centerfielder for the Bandits 1st inside the park home run of the year and 2nd home run over all.

The Bandits come away with the 16-6 victory, their 3rd win in a row and propelled into first place in the Central North Division. The MSL River Bandits take on the Wraiths on Sunday at Wing Park.

CNMSBL River Bandits Win Night Game Against Devils

The CNSBL River Bandits took on the Devils under the lights on Friday Night. Unlike the last game, they did not have any need for late game heroics.

Ben Allison making his second start of the season was dominant. He pitched a complete game, striking out 13, giving up 4 hits and an unearned run.

The offense continues to heat up as the Bandits scored 11 runs lead by Brad Anderson's 5 RBI day. The Bandits were also on a tear on the base paths as the team swiped a season high 7 stolen bases.

Manager Joe Ona has preached on a aggressive, yet controlled, approach while being on base. The Bandits did show a lot of grit as they closed the game with scoring 4 runs in the 7th after two outs.

The CNSBL River Bandits are looking to avenge early season loses as they take on the Power on Monday and the Astros on Friday of next week.

Winning Continues for MSL River Bandits

Early Saturday morning saw the MSL River Bandits take on the division leading Punishers at Lake Park High School in Roselle. Once again Brennan Baker got the call and pitched beautifully. Despite giving up his first runs of the season early in the game, he bounced back and completed the 8 inning game giving him another win.

The River Bandits came from an early 2-0 deficit as they tied the game in the 3rd, took the lead in the 5th, and then put the game out of reach with a 6 run 6th inning.

Outfielder Mike Kallay put another showing for ROY as he blasted his first home run of the season that gave the River Bandits their first lead of the game from which they did not trail again.

The River Bandits look to continue their hot hand with the Bucs on Sunday at Heritage Park in Wheeling.

Chicago North MSBL Bandits Shut Out By Rippers

The CNMSBL River Bandits took on the defending champions Rippers, led by former River Bandit Mickey Martin at Oakton Community College Baseball Field.

On the mound to begin his Bandit debut was Ben Allison. He shined brightly in the twilight as he held the Rippers to no runs in his 3 innings of pitching.

Unfortunately the Bandits were not able to put an offense together as they fall to the Rippers 6-0.

Interm manager Gary Farr said after the game, "Despite our depleted roster, were not out matched and we were still able to compete. I feel confident that once the game time is favorable we can play against the reigning champs and give them an even better game."

The CNMSBL River Bandits take on the Astros on Monday and the Devils on Friday of this week.

Dylan Powell started the game and pitched a complete game with 10 strike outs and giving up only 2 earned runs. The only runs from the Cobras came in the 8th inning. The match up saw great defensive and pitching from both teams.

The Bandits struggled at the plate with only manufacturing one run in the 7th inning. The Bandits left 14 runners on base. Manager Joe Ona expressed his frustration after the game. "We need score early in the game and not wait until later innings" Ona said. "It is really unfourntate we could not manufacture runs for Dylan, he pitched one hell of a game."
