Beaumont Dominates Mountain Pass League Finals

The meet took place on Wednesday November 5th at Noble Creek Park in Beaumont. Living up to history, it was a cold and windy day with a new adjusted course that saw some good times and made for some good races.

Beaumont was able to continue the dominating performance that they have put together all year. On the boys side, the Cougar were led by Victor Delgado who was able to win his 3rd straight league MVP title. He was joined by his team mates Geo Rizo and Kevin Layte for first team all league. Banning locked up second place in the league led by Brian Santiago and Jairo Trejo. Rubiodux stayed close thanks to Mueen Ghoury who finished second behind Delgado, and San Jacinto was able to fend off Heritage for the fourth and final CIF berth led by Kevin Vega.

On the girls side, Beaumont was able to finish off league competition with an exclamation point. Ashlee Cervantes left the field early and was able to run a 18:58 on her own. She was joined by Freshman Jazmin Romero who was able to take 2nd, and all the Beaumont athletes were in the top 13 overall. Beaumont was able to post a team time victory of over 6 minutes. San Jacinto solidified their second place standings while being led by Celene Batrez and Monique Romero-Flores. The battle between two of the new schools in the league for third and fourth was won by Tahquitz who have been consistantly getting better since day one.
