Just when some were beginning to say that the Murrieta Valley girls' dynasty was done....well, if results are any indication, they are right back into the thick of it folks!  Without senior #1 Taryn Pastoor, their girls finished with the 3rd fastest time of the day at this year's edition of the Fastback Shootout!  Run over the two-mile course at Mt. SAC (no Reservoir hills), it's a great tune-up to get the season rolling.  For this course, our personal estimates have always multiplied the time by 1.5 and than added on 30-35 seconds for boys and 40-45 seconds for girls.  Some may disagree...

Santiago's Steven Crum keeps roaring along with the 2nd fastest time of the day in 10:03 (which we estimate at 15:35-15:40) .  But, Murrieta Valley's came to RACE and THAT, they did!  With racing flats on and ready to roll, they broke the old course record (held by the 2006 La Sierra squad) WITHOUT their #1, David McCutcheon!  Murrieta is back into the mix of the top squads in Division I and Saturday was a strong indicator of that.  Junior Daniel Knauer obviously put in a great summer of training while their team gap was only 19 seconds (29-30 seconds on the regular course?) NICE..... 

Woodcrest Christian (#1 in Division V) was led by Jake Jeanson and will move up in our rankings as they would have beat La Sierra, 25-31 in dual meet scoring.  La Sierra's Steven Norton is for real and was right there behind Crum while La Sierra walked away happy with the day and the progress that their boys have made.
