"RIP IT PARK" unveiled January 26th 2003 "RIP IT PARK" was unveiled this past Sunday and I think it was a huge hit with the girls and the parents. Doug approached me a couple of weeks ago about a field that was being offered to us if we would keep the maintenance up on the park. Doug and I met out at the field last week to have a look and we thought it was a no-brainer to say yes to the offer. The infield is in great shape and really nothing needs to be done to it accept put some permanent bases down. The outfield needs a lot of work but it already has an electric sprinkler system up and working. We just need to put a little work into it and we will have one of the best fields around. I look forward to many great times out at our very own (and in the future beautiful) "RIP IT PARK". See you next Sunday at "RIP IT PARK".
A wet and wild weekend in San Marcos We had another great tournament going this weekend at the Texas Fastpitch Magazine Fall Series Classic until we had to go home due to rain. We came out of pool play undefeated (3-0) and with a number 1 seed going into bracket play. The girls did a great job in pool play doing what they needed to do and taking care of their business in order to get that 1 seed. In our 1st bracket game we played the Rough Riders and beat them 8-1. Because of our 1 seed we did not have a game on sunday until 11:30.We arrived at the fields at 10:00 and started getting ready when the rain hit. We tried to wait it out, but the fields never became playable. The tournament was called at about 12:30. The Tournament Director decided that the team in the winners bracket with the least runs allowed would be declared the winner. So, even though we went undefeated in pool play and won our 1st bracket game. We were awarded 2nd because we allowed 1 more run than a team that lost a pool game and were a lower seed!!! Does this picture look funny??? Oh well, we felt like we had some momentum heading into Sunday and that we had a very good chance to take this tournament. At least "RIP IT" felt that way. Way to go girls of "RIP IT"!!!
"RIP IT" PICKS UP TWO FOR NATIONALS In order for "RIP IT" to have enough girls to participate in Nationals we have picked up two girls for the team. Let me introduce these two great players. First is Belen Hinojos from Odessa, TX. , she has been playing with West Texas Tonados this year and has a great year for them. The other pick-up player is Desirae Ewing from Rockwall Tx. and she has been playing for Black Ice out of the Metroplex area. We saw Desirae play at USSSA "A" State and we felt like she could really help our team, so we talked to her and her Mom (Carrie) and they jumped right on board. Thanks you two for helping us out at Nationals. I think that you are going to have a great time Playing for RIP IT. Thanks again!!!
"RIP IT" Wins again by taking 1st place in San Marcos
"RIP IT" Goes undefeated and unscored on !!!! Rip It played in the Borderline Bratz Tournament this past weekend and had another great tournament. Rip It went 6-0 and did not have a run scored on them all weekend. Coach Boyd said " The girls really had a great tourney. The pitching was awesome all weekend and our defense made play after play after play. Our pitchers and defense had their backs to the wall a couple of times but they always seemed to make a play even when the odds were against them". " I am just incredibly proud of my girls and with how well they took care of their business all weekend". " I really have an incredible amount of talent on this team and they really are a great bunch of girls". " I am so excited about this teams potential. "I truly am blessed with awesome girls".
"RIP IT" Takes 2nd in the Mother's Day Classic
"RIP IT" TAKES 1st IN DUNCAN OKLAHOMA WOW!!! The girls just continue to amaze us with not only great softball but with the way they go about their business. They played great this weekend and they played with alot of character and class. "RIP IT" went 6-0 in pool play on Saturday and carried over their momentum into Sunday. We were given the number one seed and a bye heading into bracket play on Sunday. We started off with a solid win against the Starz at 10:30. We followed that up with a 9-0 win against the Purcell Angels to put us into the championship game. We were matched against a tough local team the Duncan Lady Angels. We started off with a solid 1st inning by scoring 5 runs. Our sticks were HOT all weekend and it didn't slow down any in this game. We won 10-2 to cap off an awesome weekend. Way to go "RIP IT"!!!
"RIP IT" takes 1st place in the COTTON PICKIN CLASSIC "RIP IT" wins the Cotton Pickin Classic in Lubbock this past weekend!! The girls did an incredible job and just really came together for a total team effort. We had quite a few potential distractions with injuries and a flu bug hitting the team on Sunday, but that didn't seem to faze us as the team came together and rallied to victory. Our pitching and defense was awesome all weekend as we only gave up 5 runs the whole tournament. The coaches and parents had a blast watching you play and we are very proud of you all. WAY TO GO "RIP IT" GIRLS!!!

RIP IT takes 2nd at USSSA "A" State West RIP IT had another great weekend in Lubbock at the USSSA "A" State West this past weekend. We started off a little slow at first, but as the weekend went on we started building momentum. We had several exciting come from behind wins. The first come from behind and win was against Texas Diamonds and then the next one was the craziest one we've been in all year. We were playing against a very good metroplex team ( Black Ice ) and they had us down 6 to 4 with time expired. We were home team and we tied it up to put it into ITB. They were up first and they put 3 runs on the board. We came up to bat and matched them run for run to put it into another ITB. We held them to no runs in top of the inning and we scored the winning run in the bottom to win the game and put us in the "SHIP". We met Denton Doom in the Championship, which is the team that put us in the loser's bracket on Friday night with a 1-0 win. We fought them hard again but lost by 1 run again 2-1 to place 2nd at the State Tournament. Way to go RIP IT Girls!!!
Team West Texas RIP IT traveled to Austin this past weekend(Oct.4-6)to compete in Central Texas Fastpitch Invitational. RIP IT competed in the 12&Under "A" Bracket. This bracket consisted of 12&Under teams as well as three 14&under teams. Wow,what a tournament! The girls played some awesome softball and really showcased their incredible abilities on the field as well as showing the rest of the teams and fans their tremendous fight, spirit and great sportsmanship ON and OFF the field. Way to go RIP IT!!!! Great Coach Dies at 55 One of my favorite coaches that I had in 8th grade died tonight of a Heart Attack while doing what he loved more than anything, coaching kids. Coach Gene Ziegler was a great coach and was also a person that had a tremendous impact on my life while playing sports in Junior High. The one thing that he said to me while playing sports that I will never forget "Cowan,If I'm yelling at you then you know I still care about you, It's when I stop yelling at you that you better start worrying". Coach Zieg I'm gonna miss ya!! I'll see you again real soon. Dreams by Van Halen
