The RI Lightning is a highly competitive fastpitch travel organization competing in PONY, ASA, NSA and AAU tournaments throughout the Northeast. Our organization has 12U, 14U, 16U and 18U teams. Our players come from all over Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts to play for one of the top organizations in New England. We only accept dedicated team players.
We are a member of the largest and oldest travel organization in Rhode Island. Our coaches have many years of softball experience and invest countless hours of quality practice time with the team year round. In return, RI Lightning players are expected to be courteous, honest, and respectful with their parents, coaches, teammates, opponents and officials at all times. We expect 100% effort on and off the field by our players.
The 2008 RI Lightning 12 & Under team competed in nine tournaments in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island, including a step up in competition to the 14U division for the last tournament of the season in West Greenwich, RI. They finished the 2008 12 & Under season with two tournament championships, one 2nd place finish, and three 3rd place finishes as we competed against the best "A" level teams from across New England and New York. We look forward to a building upon that success with an exciting travel season as we welcome several new (and very skilled!) players to the 2009 RI Lightning 12 & Under team!
