About Richmond Little League

Founded in 1960, Richmond Little League is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing organized baseball to the youth of Richmond and Madison County.

Little League Baseball is a program of service to the youth. It is geared to provide an outlet of healthful activity and training under good leadership in the atmosphere of wholesome community participation. The movement is dedicated to helping children become good and decent citizens. It inspires them with a goal and enriches their lives towards the day when they must take their places in the world. It establishes the values of teamwork, sportsmanship and fair play.

There will be a $10 late fee for those not registered on the above sign up dates.

 

Those who do not sign up on the above dates will be placed on a waiting list by calling Chasity Kendrick at 221-4200 and will be chosen for a team only if additional players are needed.

*Only in TEE/Wee Ball, parents may request other players to be on the same team with their child.                                                                                                                                                       *Players who are 6 and have played one season in Tee Ball may play in Rookie Coach Pitch.

*Players who are 7 and have played one spring season in Machine Pitch may tryout for Coach Pitch, but are not guaranteed to be drafted into Coach Pitch. 

*Players who are 8 and have played two spring seasons, one of which was in Coach Pitch, may tryout for Minor League, but are not guaranteed to be drafted into Minor League.

*Players who are 9 and not drafted into Minor League will be placed on a team in Coach Pitch.

*Players who are 11 and not drafted in Major League will be placed on a Minor League team.    

SENIOR LEAGUE will begin after the conclusion of the Madison County School Year. Sign up dates will be posted on the website at a later date. Additional sign up dates will be posted on the website at a later date and there will be no late charge on these dates.

All players who did not play during the Spring 2011 season in the Richmond Little League program must present a certified birth certificate at sign-ups.  A hospital certificate is not a certified birth certificate. You may obtain a copy via the Internet at www.vitalcheck.com. 

REGISTRATION FORMS are available on the website and will be available at sign ups. Bring the completed form to sign ups; make payment, show ID, and/or show birth certificate if needed.  Payment (cash or check) is expected at the time of sign-ups.  There is no scholarship/financial assistance program. 

COACHING APPLICATIONS: Volunteer forms will need to be completed by all adults who would like to be a manager, coach , to help at practices, or assist with players in any way when providing service to the league.  Applications (including a picture ID) for Manager or Coach should be given to one of the commissioners at sign ups.  All managers and coaches must be approved by the Board of Directors.  All other volunteers may be approved by a Commissioner. Managers and Coaches will be required to attend trainings and meetings as scheduled.
