THE 2009 RNLL BOARD NEEDS YOUR HELP!! - The RNLL Board has assigned positions for the 2009 season. There still are Board positions available and RNLL needs a few good people to step "to the plate".
Richland National Little League has run successfully due to the numerous volunteers who have given their time and energy to make it possible. We need a few people to get involved for the 2009 season and beyond. We currently have three 2009 positions that are critical to the success of the season:
- Fields Coordinator - this position is about coordinating the work needed to keep our fields in great shape (not doing all the work!) Larry Guffey has a complete list of tasks that need to be complete for our fields to remain in the GREAT condition we are accustom to seeing. The Fields Coordinator position is responsible for delegating these tasks for completion.
- Sponsorship Coordinator - Again, the program is in place and several previous sponsors simply need to be contacted. Sponsors are an important part of our budget and an area where some "go getter" could really help out RNLL.
As we enter 2009, we need to look forward to the future. It is important parents of YOUNGER LL players get involved with Board involvment early. Several Board members will "graduate" from Little League at the conclusion of the '09 season. We would like to work toward training replacements for the following positions: Scorekeeping, Volunteer Coordinator, Concessions Coordinator, Information Officer and - naturally - the two OPEN positions for 2009.
Please contact our new RNLL President, Cary Burrup, or any of the Board members if you can dedicate some time to the league.

Thinking about a new bat for 2009?
In effect for the 2009 season is the requirement that all non-wood bats used in Little League Baseball (Majors) Divisions and below shall be printed with a Bat Perormance Factor (BPF) of 1.15 or less.
This stipulation has been included in the Official Rules and Regulations for the past few years, leading up to 2009, so that leagues, parents, and bat manufacturers could prepare for it. Most non-wood bats manufactured over the past several years for the age groups involved in Little League Baseball (Majors) and below have been permanently imprinted with the BPF. In fact, very few bats sold today with a diameter of 2-1/4 (two and one-quarter) inches are not printed with the BPF rating.
So, starting with the 2009 season, bats printed with a BPF higher than 1.15, or without a BPF printed (or not legible) on the bat, are not permitted in these divisions.
