Resurrection Basketball

2012-2013 Season

Register Now!!!  Open to youth of the parish and school grades 3-8.  Do not register for the high school and second grade programs at this time (that registration will be later in the fall.)

Program overview:  We are continuing to partner with St. Louis, Trinity, St. Michael’s, and St. John’s in Olney in the Mid Maryland Youth Basketball League (MMYBL). Teams will be formed for boys and girls in each grade, 3 – 8.  This year, all teams from all schools/parishes will be single grade as much as possible. We will also have CYO league teams for 8^th grade managed by Resurrection Basketball, if there is enough interest.  Other CYO teams may be formed as desired but will be managed outside of Resurrection Basketball (i.e. a volunteer must come forward to organize the team(s).) CYO games are played at various parishes.  High school students will play in the CYO high school league beginning in January.

Gina Maclean will be the program coordinator and Roger Andreas will be the Boys Commissioner and Tom Whelan, the Girls Commissioner.  We are very blessed to have these two commissioners to guide our program.

Registration fee: $125 until September 24.  After September 24 the fee is $145 and registration is only on a space-available basis.  Fee includes uniforms.  Grades 5 -8 uniforms are to be returned.  If you register after September 24 and do not get placed on a team, your money will be refunded less $15.

Evaluations: will be held October 1 - 4 to assist the coordinators and coaches in forming evenly matched teams.  All children registered by September 24 will be placed on a team as long as they attend an evaluation session.

Practices: will be held at Resurrection or area public school gyms Mondays – Saturdays in the fall, then Monday – Thursdays once the season begins.  You will hear about team assignment the week of October 22. Practices will begin the week of October 29.

Games: will be played at Resurrection, Trinity, St. Michael’s or St. John’s from November 30, 2012 – February 23, 2013, on Friday evenings, Saturdays (including some evening) and Sundays.  In general Boys 5^th – 8^th grade play on Friday nights, with a few games on Saturday or Sunday. The Girls 5^th – 8^th grade will play Saturday with an occasional Sunday.  The Boys and Girls 3^rd – 4^th graders will play Saturday or Sunday.

Coaches: are needed for all levels.  Please indicate your interest on your child’s registration form. You must be STAND certified to be a coach or assistant coach. Please make sure you provide the contact email for the person who will coach when filling out the registration form.  There will be a general coach meeting the week of September 24.

When you register online, please make sure that you print out the confirmation page and also receive a confirmation email. If you do not receive a confirmation, your registration may not have gone through!
