MPS 90 has been accepted into the 2008 Score at the Shore College Showcase tournament is scheduled to be held in Greensboro, NC on July 26-29, 2008.

At the end of the Fall 2007 season Mike Carter, one of the team's original and most highly esteemed member, decided to resign from MPS 90 and competitive club soccer. Aiming to study Aeronautical Engineering at a prestigious university, Mike wants to focus his very considerable energies and talents on academics to achieve his challenging objective.

It shall be noted that Mike timed his decision to resign just prior to a series of College Showcase tournaments to provide other players a greater opportunity to showcase their talents in front of attending college coaches.

Few players if any match Mike's intelligence and altruistic compassion. He will forever remain a quintessential 'Nineties'.  He and his family, in particular his parents, Karen and big Mike, will be sorely missed by the entire MPS family.  

The Tampa Bay Sun Bowl confirmed receipt of MPS 90's application to participate in the tournament in Tampa Bay, Florida scheduled from December 27-30. Click on the headline to proceed directly to the tournament website.

MPS 90 will play the preliminary round games at Lake Parker # 3 (click compass symbol in Calendar for directions) in Lakeland, Fl. The Quarterfinal and Semifinals are closer to Tampa in Plant City.

MPS 90 will compete in Group D against Concorde Fire Black (GA), FC Copa Classics (USCS, NJ), MYSC Yahara Blue (WI), and Strictly Soccer (USCS, FL).

• Concorde Fire Black, ranked 10 in the State of Georgia, is the sister team of Concorde Fire Elite, the top ranked team in the State. Concorde Fire Black is the current champion of Norcross Nike Cup.
• FC Copa Classics is ranked 6th in the State of New Jersey and current champion of US Club Soccer's Region A.
• Middleton Yahara Blue is ranked 3rd in the State of Wisconsin, and was a Semi-Finalist in the SC del Sol Presidents' Day Cup.
• Strictly Soccer FC , ranked 2nd in the State of Florida, is the current US Club Soccer Champion in Region C. Strictly Soccer was a semi-finalist in the Premier ranked Vulcan Cup. 

With Connor Tretrault, Christopher Wilson, Michael Hinkle and Andrew Marut having finished their inaugural season with the team, the team welcomed 2 new player to the team at the end of the Fall 2007 NCSL season: Joe Baires and Asa Fox.

After the Classic Blue College Showcase tournament in Manheim, PA Corey Fortier and Charlie Ahn graciously accepted the invitation to join the team.

All new players have been carefully selected to strengthen the team in key positions and provide coach with strategic and tactical alternatives.

On behalf of the Coach, Members of the MPS Board, the players and their family, we welcome these new players and their families, and wish them the best of luck and fortune in our midst.

MPS 90 will compete in the Gray bracket against the following teams:

Carolina 90 Select (NC), ASG 91 Gold (TXN), and FC Bangu Tsunami 91Boys (MN) 

• Carolina 90 Select is a Region 3 Premier League Finalist ranked 3rd in North Carolina.
•  ASG 91 Gold is ranked 4th in Texas North and Champion of the Edmond, OK, Beat the Heat Tourney.
• FC Bangu Tsunami is the current state champion of Minnesota.
