Reston Little League Tee Ball Division: Welcome
Tee Ball (Primarily for playing ages 5-6)
This is a basic introduction to baseball and the lessons that can only be learned as part of a team with a common objective.
The Tee Ball division is suggested for all league age 5 year old players and any first-time 6 year old players or other 6 year olds who would like another season of fun, basic instruction and confidence building before moving up to A Ball. Placement in this division is done by league age and teams are organized by the Tee Ball Commissioner. It is an instructional division where players hit off a tee rather than hit a pitched ball and they use Reduced Impact Force (RIF) or “safety” balls. No scores are kept, every offensive player bats each inning regardless of outs, and no player sits on defense. Players are taught the fundamentals of baseball and skills such as throwing, catching, batting, defensive ready position and running the bases.
The primary objective of the league officials and coaches is for the kids to have fun and be excited to participate again the following season!
2013 Winter Clinics
Registration for the 2013 Winter Clinics will remain open through February 15th. The clinic will be on the first 4 consecutive Sunday afternoons in March, each lasting one hour. Sessions will be led by the commissioner, league managers, and assistants from the South Lakes varsity baseball team.
Sessions focus on developing sound fundamentals, knowledge of the game and building a team playing attitude through team and individual drills. Our Positive Coaching methodology empowers the players to help create the goals and the rules for the clinics.

2013 Spring Season
The 2013 Spring Season will kick off the same week as our annual parade on April 13th, 2013. Practices last approximately one hour on one night per week through the 10 week season. Tee Ball games are typically an hour and 15 minutes and are on Saturdays starting the weekend of the parade and running through early June when there is a celebratory league wide picnic. With the exception of each team playing one game per season under the Friday night lights at Fred Crabtree Field, all games will be at the Reston North (Home Depot) Fields and since there is always a game being played during 10am-430pm on Saturdays, we encourage local families to grab a stroller and stop by to cheer on the Tee Ballers! Please note that there will be no games scheduled on Memorial weekend.
Players will receive uniforms and all necessary equipment except for a glove, which we ask parents to provide. Registration for the Fall Season will be $80 with a $35 fee for any late registrations that are accepted from the wait list. If you’re unsure which level is the best fit for your player, please visit the About RLL page for descriptions of the divisions of Reston Little League.
When that time comes, in order to register you must first check that you live within our boundary. Click the Interactive Boundary Map to see if your address qualifies, then register at: http://www.sportssignup.com/Reston-Little-League-Online-Registration.start
If you have any other questions , please contact our Tee Ball commissioner, Ryan Lonnett at rlltball@gmail.com.
