The Rifles grabbed 4th place in the Ice Palace Cup played on May 1-3, 2009 in Grand Forks, ND.

The team lost an overtime thriller in the bronze medal game to the Jr. Sioux squad from the Grand Forks area. Although the Rifles outshot and out hit their opponents, they couldn't get the puck past the terrific Sioux goalie and lost in double over time.

In earlier games, the Rifles easily outplayed their opponents, the NW Minnesota Loons and the Siouxland Buffalos on Friday and came up short to the Man Sask Wolfpack, losing 5-2. Congrats to Man Sask for winning the tournament.
