Kansas ASA Class "C" Gold State Championship - Emporia - July of 2010
Very disappointing, we played excellent the first game then did not even show up the next two games. We have beat better teams during the year but did not even seam interested after the first game. I walked into the dugout before the start of the next game and all 11 girls were just sitting there not saying a thing. There was just no fire at all, we should of won this tournament instead we went 1-2. Very disappointing!

Kansas ASA Region 4 Championship - Winfield - June of 2010
*** REGIONAL CHAMPIONS ***
Had a few problems with errors and walks but started hitting the ball better in the first game. I think we are starting to come together. After a slow start the bats came alive in the second game, everyone hit and almost everyone scored at least run. Pitching was dominated holding most teams to just a few baserunners. In the semi-final game WOW what a game, we were cruising 3-0 then the wheels feel off. Three or four errors a few walks and we were behind 3-9. Going into the last inning we were down by 6 with one out and then we proceeded to score 7 runs in a row to win. WOW, that was sweet!!! In the Finals we started the game hitting and just kept on hitting. We played a very good team and did give up a few runs but we were all hitting a real team effort winning 17-8. REGIONAL CHAMPIONS!!!

Augusta "Softball Around the Clock" - June of 2010
We did not have a very good Tournament; the girls had a problem with the Heat the all night thing. We barely won the first game against an in superior team. Then we went on to lose the rest of our games. Our pitching was fine but the defense was not. Our bats went cold and we just did not hit well against good competition. We are going to have to pick up the pace and hit better, we don’t have the speed to get some easy runs.

Hillsboro Spring Opener - May of 2010
We did not have any practices together as a team before this tournament due to HS and rain. Although we did not play to our potential, we did play alright for our first games together after meeting each other just once. We won our first two games in our pool 5-4 and 4-3 which put us in the Championship game. They scored in the first inning when we made a few mistakes that cost a couple more runs, after that neither team scored with us losing in the finals 0-3.

Kansas ASA Class "C" Gold State Championship - Topeka - July of 2009
We struggled all year long in tournaments and it kept it up at State. We won a close first game, but lost our next to a team that we shouldn’t. Most of our games went the same this year against tuff competition. We would get girls on base the first 3 innings but could not get them in. Then we would make defensive laps and loose the game at the end. We did not play up to our potential in tournaments but we are all 13 so next year should be better.

Augusta Let's Wrap It Up - July of 2009
We won our first two games and just got crushed in the semi’s. They played well and we played bad. In the loser’s bracket we just withered in the 105 degree heat. We barely won our next game against a team we should have crushed then lost to another inferior team.

Kansas ASA Region 4 Championship - Winfield - June of 2009
Rain, Rain, Rain, all weekend long. Friday games cancelled, Saturdays moved back. When we did play it was a muddy mess. The girls did well winning our first two games. Lost the next game by two runs it was a very well played game but it turned out to be trouble for us. With all the rain delays and movement in the bracket we ended up playing four games Saturday and three of them in a row we were worn out. Our last game Saturday was against our rival; they were in the loser’s bracket and had played only one game. We were in the winner’s bracket and played four. Needless to say we were worn out and lost by three.

Wellington Sumner County Sizzler - June 2009
We don’t have any consistency yet, plus we are playing too the competition. We played a couple of weak teams and did not play very well winning one and losing one. Then we played a couple of good teams and played well but lost them both. We just are not playing up to our potential yet.

Salina Sacred Heart Spring Fling - May 2009
We are still having problems with our Defense but it is improving. Early games are killing us but that needs to change, good teams come prepared to play no matter what time it is. We can get girls on base but can't come up with the big hit at the right time to score runs. I think getting a few more games under our belt will help us, plus we are getting used to playing 14&U after moving up this year. By the way we did lose to the eventual champion by just 2 runs.

Winfield Cowley County Blast - May 2009
This was our first game of the year and you could tell. With all the rain we hadn't practiced in almost a month and we just were not prepared. Terrible defense, poor pitching and no hitting did us in. After a tough first game we played a little better, defense was a lot better making just a few mistakes. We hit the ball better with good baserunning but we still have a long way to go.

Kansas ASA Class "C" Gold State Championship - Emporia - July of 2008
The state tournament we battled all tournament long but we did not play as well as we could of. We won a few games but because of our defense we had to keep hitting to stay in it. We still barley lost the games when we did lose, we just never got back to the way we could have played. We finished tied for 7th and we had beat 5 of the seven teams that finished ahead of us during the year. We just did not play as good as we could nor did we place were we should of.

Kansas ASA Region 4 Championship - Winfield - June of 2008
We played great on Saturday winning all of our games. Sunday we came in flat and got upset in the quarter finals. We came back and played good but a few defensive lapses cost us. We did not finish as high as we should of.
| | Second Place | |
Augusta Mid Season Invitational - June of 2008
We played a great tournament against some very tough competition. Everyone in this tournament won at least two games at state and a few placed. The competition was incredible. We won all of our pool games and came into Sunday on fire. Taking care of the first two games easily we went up against our rivals in the finals again. This time we were in control winning by 3 going into the last inning when some questionable calls gave the other team 3 more chances than they should have got and we ended up losing buy 1.

St. Marks Pre-Season Tournament - May of 2008
We were dominating all tournament long crushing everyone, out scoring our opponents 57-2. Winning the championship game 10-0. We did well over the years playing in the Andale tournament finishing with 3 championships and two second place finishes.

Derby Spring Swing - April of 2008
The first tournament of the year and we came out flat won one but lost two games we shouldn’t of. Took care of business crushing everyone on Sunday but we were in the losers bracket because of Saturday.

Derby Get Your Swing On Fall Ball Tornament - September of 2007
Getting our present team together we played well the first day and run ruled everyone. The next day we lost our first game because we had problems defensively, we were way better than that team but could not make the routine plays.

Kansas ASA Class "C" Gold State Championship - Salina - July of 2007
We played 3 games in this tournament was ahead in all 3, and only had 3 bad innings all tournament. The problem is we had 1 bad inning (defensive) in each game and that is why we lost? We played all 3 teams tough and they were all close we just had defense problems in each game. The first team we lost too took second in state, the second team took 4th and the third team took 5th. We should have placed but we just could not put a whole game together against the good teams all year.
| | Second Place | |
Augusta Let's Wrap It Up - July of 2007
We had an excellent tournament and the competition was great. We won all of our pool games by 2 runs or less we were all pretty much even. The next day we won our games setting us up in the finals playing a team we beat on Saturday. They scored 3 in the first inning and held on winning 3-2, we had our chances but never could get that next run in?

Wellington All Star Classic - May of 2007
Although we didn’t always win during the year we did play everyone tough except two games and they were both in this tournament. Our first game was against a Winfield team that at the end of the year ended up winning a State Championship. We were ahead of them until the last inning when our defense let us down and we lost by 1 in the last inning. The next two games were the worst we played all year getting run ruled the only two times of the year.

St. Marks Pre-Season Tournament - May of 2007
This was a good Tournament for us at this time because we played a lot of girls about the same as us. There were a lot of close games against Colwich, Andale, and Andover that we finished off including the Championship game beating Andover by 1 run.

Derby Spring Swing - April of 2007
This was our first Tournament as 12&U, the girls were very competitive in every game all though we did not win any. It turned out three of the four teams we played ended up placing at State including out first game was against the season ending State Champions.

Derby Get Your Swing On Fall Ball Tornament - September of 2006
After dominating Babe Ruth we decided to move up to ASA Class “C”. We were all 10 years olds but went to play in a fall 12&U Tournament. It was worth it, we learned a lot and it helped the girls immensely because we saw the new rules (dropped 3rd strike, etc…) in person and they figured out they will have to step up their game.
| | Third Place | |
Kansas Babe Ruth State Championship - Rose Hill - July of 2006
We played very well just crumbling at the end, we should have won our second State Championship in a row but could not finish. The last 3 teams were about the same and could have beaten each other anytime. We were ahead in both games in the last inning but could not hold on losing both games by 1 run. We finished in 3rd place having a good time but we were very disappointed.
| | Fourth Place | |
El Dorado Memorial Day Blow Out - May of 2006
We beat all of the 9 year old teams, and we played well against the other 10 year old teams but just couldn’t hold on. We had some problems with the other coaches. The parents and kids saw what sometimes goes on outside of Rose Hill. There are some people that just don’t care about sportsmanship. The girls did have a good time though rolling down the hill (the damn).

Babe Ruth National Softball Championship - Hugo, Colorado - July of 2005
We went to the National Tournament for the experience and wow was it an experience it was? Babe Ruth thought it would be nice to give the National Tournament to a small town (smaller than Rose Hill). It was awful, the worst field I have ever seen in my life, they broke up a parking lot, laid sand down, set an 8 person bench, snow fence, and a 10 foot back stop and called it and field. The town only had one field and the 14 year olds played on that one and we played on the sand pit. It was white sand, the temperature was 105, with no wind, and the temperature was 115 on the field. Competition wise, although we lost all of our games we hung with everyone, in fact had the lead in all of our games we just couldn’t hold on. The girls were huge, they looked like 14 year old yet we were mostly 9 year olds.

Kansas Babe Ruth State Championship - Rose Hill - July of 2005
The girls were excided playing the State Tournament at Rose Hill. We out scored everyone scoring at least 8 in each game but the big thing was our pitching. Both girls pitched the best games they ever have and dominated the competition winning every game comfortably.
| | Second Place | |
St. Marks Pre-Season Tournament - May of 2005
This year the only teams entered were from Colwich and Andale. We dominated all the teams run ruling everyone during pool play including beating the team we met in the championship 10-0. The problem is you have to play the games and we had our problems in the championship game. The run rule was 10 and we had the lead by 9 and lost it in the last inning. Pitchers can only pitch 3 innings a game through 5 innings we were fine the problem was we couldn’t finish and lost in the finals 16-15.
| | Third Place | |
Kansas ASA Region 4 Championship - at Winfield - June of 2004
We took third place in the ASA Softball Regional in Winfield. We played four games all against the top four teams in the Wichita Two Rivers Softball League. Two Rivers is the top Softball League in the State and we hung in with them. Winning two games and losing two games. All four games were tough, competitive, hard fought and well played. The top two teams go to state and we finished third. All these teams have practiced together for months, played together all year, have played in tournaments together. We had three practices together and then held our own against the Wichita Starz 9-8, Wichita Cyclones 11-8, Wichita Blasters 2-10, and Wichita Flyers 1-8, the best in the state. GREAT JOB GIRLS!!!

Kansas ASA Region 4 Championship - at Winfield - June of 2003
We are used to the regular hard softball, in this tournament they played with a SOFTIE softball. It was like playing with a super ball, our girls were shell shocked. They just couldn't stop it, nor could they hit it. If you hit this ball hard it just spins up in the air for a fly out. You have to chop the ball down on the ground and that is what the other teams were used to doing.
We were at a distinct disadvantage, the girls played hard but with the different softball and different rules, the coaches just didn't have them prepared. The girls had an excellent season, this is just not the way we wanted to end it.
We played some good teams, I just wish we could play them under different conditions. If they played with our rules and a hard softball I think things would of been a lot different. Next year we will be prepared and will give a better showing in the regional tournament.

St. Marks 8&U Coach Pitch Tournament - May of 2003
ROCKETS ARE TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONS!!!
Rockets win their first Tournament entered, going 4-0 in the St. Marks Tourney. The first game was against Valley Center, we won by 1 run in the last inning scoring 3 in the bottom of the inning. Then we beat Colwich, and then St. Mark's. The girls were behind most of the time in the Championship game but never gave up for a 14 to 11 victory over the Valley Center Xplosion.
