For the past several years, the RYH midget program has consisted of a once a week scrimmage as well as participation of one team in the Valley League. For the upcoming season, RYH will be introducing an additional option for Midgets for the 2012 season.
Midget (High School Prep) Program
(This program is for Midgets only, birth years 1997 and
prior)
This program is
designed for High School aged players that are committed to attending
two challenging practices per week in preparation for the High School season.
There will be one practice on a specified week night and the other practice on a
Sunday afternoon. These practices which will run from September through November
will be led by Dave Hunter, head coach of MIT hockey team. As part of this
program, a team of players will be selected based on a tryout in the fall that
will play in two tournaments. The need for a tryout will be based on the number
of players that register. This team will not be playing in the Valley League.
While costs for this program will not be finalized until after registrations are
complete, it is currently expected that the costs for the practice participants
will be about $300 to $350 and the cost for the tournament team players will be
about $450 to $500.
In order to secure a spot in this program, please complete and return the registration form (use link below) and registration fee of $250 by Wednesday, April 11th. Please include a note on the registration form - "Midget (High School Prep) Program".
Saturday, February 18
Please submit a registration form for each player that you wish to register. Note that there are two different registration amounts and deadlines listed on the form depending on the players age grouping.
The dates for the remaining spring tryouts will be as follows:
Girls: Thursday, April 5th at 6:45 PM(U10 & U12), 7:45 PM(U14) or 8:45 PM (U19)
Congrats to all our calendar winners, and thank you for supporting RYH !

It is with great disappointment that we must cancel our first Winter Classic. Due to the mild weather conditions and securing the amount of ice time needed to accommodate the many teams, we logistically could not do it. Looks like 2013 will be our kickoff year!
Listed below are three options for your registration fee. Please send me an email by Friday, February 24 at lmahoney9@gmail.com and let me know where you would like me to apply it to.
1. You can have it donated to the Peter Doherty Scholarship
2. You can apply the cost towards the hockey social ticket. The hockey social ticket is $25.00 per person. The registration fee was $25.00 per youth skater.
3. We can return your check to you. (All checks will be returned by February 29 by the team parent)
Thank You,
Lynn Strazzere

The 2011-2012 Board of Directors was approved at our May open meeting. We'll have some a few new faces and some new roles for others next season.
To the outgoing Board members - Dennis Collins, Money Grimmer and Paul Doherty - thank you for your contributions !
Check out the Board of Directors link for contact information on the new Board.
Note - we are still looking for a Clinic Director. If you are interested please contact President Roy Benjamin.
The Marines took an early lead in the first but the Air Force scored 3 unanswered goals to take a commanding lead. It looked like the 2 goal lead would hold up but the Marines showed their never say die spirit and tied the game in the second half.
The Marines peppered the Air Force goalie trying to get the tying goal. But the Air force was up to the task and was able to hold on for the victory.
In the consolation game Army outlasts Navy 3-1, in an exciting up and down game. Navy played a solid defensive game, but could not solve outstanding Army goaltending.

The Reading Pee Wee 2 team finished off the 2010-2011 season right with a sweep of the Valley League Pee Wee Red Championship. The team was the underdog going into the playoffs but played their best hockey of the season to beat out the other Pee Wee teams -- including the No. 1, 2 and 3 seeded team -- to get to the finals.

Recently the PW3s traveled down to Hyannis to play in the New England Junior Hurricanes Invitational Tournament. Playing up in the PW “B” division, the young Rockets swept through the games, defeating all opponents to take the championship medals. The team only allowed 2 goals against in the entire tournament.
In the first game they defeated the Conquistadors 6-0. In the second game they faced the RYH PW4 squad and took a hard-fought 6-1 victory. On Saturday night they played a very large, very physical Plymouth team and still came away with a 3-1 victory and a spot in the finals. The final game on Sunday was a rematch of the same two teams, with the Rockets coming out with a hard-fought 1-0 victory.
