RBY is a non-profit organization, governed and run solely by volunteers that number over 300. Since 1963 we have been providing a safe place for the youth of Redlands and surrounding communities to learn and play ball, make new friends, as well as build self-confidence and self-esteem. RBY is sanctioned by PONY Baseball and Softball, whose "Protect Our Nation's Youth" message is put into practice by providing experiences in youth baseball and softball that will help young people grow into healthier and happier adults.

For the first time in at least 12 years, RBY was forced to raise it's fees to keep up with escalating costs of maintaining and improving our league. This was a difficult decision to make, but like so many other organizations, we had to do it to continue to bring you a quality program.
Though we play at a city park, the city doesn't maintain it. The city requires RBY to invest a minimum of $18,000 a year in the park just to use it. The city mows the outfields and water them, because they are also used as a park. The rest is up to us. As you can see by the chart below, with the wear and tear of 1600 players on the fields for 5 months, it take more than $18.000 to maintain it. Besides the maintenance, RBY pays for all the field preparation, lighting, facility improvements, and any new facilities. (RBY built and paid for the restroom by the flagpole years ago)
We will continue to strive to improve the baseball experience by making more improvments. In years past we have completely rebuilt fields or added a new one. Last year RBY added soft toss cages, batting racks and helmet racks to the four big fields. We also poured a new patio. For 2010, we will build a cover over this patio and will make improvements to the other three fields. We also have other projects planned that are awaiting city approval.
Below is a list of what it costs per player to operate RBY. As you can see, we are still not covering the full cost. We still need your continuing support with candy sales, sponsors and purchases at the snack bar to make ends meet.
