OILERS NEWS!!!!!
CHECK IN FOR UPDATES, IMPORTANT DATES, GAME NEWS AND ALL THINGS OILERS
Throughout the years the Oilers have depended upon many people behind the scenes to help put the team on the field. During this recent off season several of those people have passed away and we would like to mention them in memoriam. Reverend Arthur Bowler of the Randolph Congregational Church. Myrna Carman, wife of the team equipment manager, John Carman. Fran Bidorini who with her husband, Bob and Daughter Dianne helped run Las Vegas nights for many years and Bob McSweeney, father of Tom and Billy, who helped in so many ways from sidelines to equipment, to fund raising wherever needed. A team is only as good as its individual parts and we ask that you please keep these people in your thoughts and prayers. . .Thank you

Blizzard-27 Oilers-21
In a rematch of last year's semi-final game, the Clinton Irish Blizzard came to Randolph and defeated the Oilers in overtime 27-21...The loss was the second heart-breaking loss in a row to the Blizzard as they ended the oilers championship run last season beating Randolph 27-13.
The game started off looking like things were going to go Randolph's way all night...After the defense forced a 3 and out on Clinton's first possession, the Oiler's offense marched to about the Blizzard 40 before Dave Canavan's punt gave Clinotn horrible field position...The first quarter turned into a battle for field position and it wasn't until with about 10 mins left in the second quarter that Clinton was able to score the game's first points...Randolph responded by driving the ball flawlessly behind big runs from Charles Thomas and Calvin Bryant and capped the drive with a Ryan Myers TD pass to Brian Gallo to even the score 7-7, which is where the game stood at halftime
After the oiler offense failed to score even though Will Price's kick return gave them the ball inside CLinton's 35, The Blizz were able to take a 14-7 lead early in the 3rd quarter but Randolph again responded with a great drive...Behind more good running and some good passing from Myers, Gallo caught another Myers fade pass for their second hook-up of the game, again tying the score.
Clinton was driving and looking to take the lead again in the 4th quarter when Norm Burns stepped in front of a Riccio pass in the end zone and returned the pick all the way to the 11 yard line...Bryant then took a hand off, got a couple good block, made some shifty moves and scored, pputting the Oilers up 21-17...Unable to run the clock out later in the game, the Oilers gave up a late TD and a Clinton INT ended regulation tied at 21
The Oilers lost the toss and were given the ball first in OT...The EFL follows NCAA OT rules, allowing both teams a chance to score...The Oilers drive ended in a missed FG, and CLinton promptly took 4 plays to end the game...The loss was the Oiler's 3rd to Clinton over the last 2 seasons.
Randolph got a solid game from the offensive and defensive lines, notably DTs Anthony Goodwyn and Karl Wells...Dan Carroll and Johnny Taylor played solid in the secondary and the special teams looked good...But none of that was enough as the Oiler's open the season with a loss...They look to rebound against Brockton on July 24 in Bridgewater

Oilers 24 Buccaneers 6
The Randolph Oilers defeated the Borockton Buccaneers 24-6 on sunday...The Oilers improved to 1-1 on the season...The victory capped off a week in which the oilers lost their long time equipment manager John Carmen
The Bucs struck first by driving for a TD on their first possession, but a blocke extra point brought momentum to the Oilers...Early in the 2nd quarter Calvin Bryant scpred on a on 8 yrd run and with Dave Cananvan's extra point, gave the Oiler's a 7-6 lead and they never looked back...Canavan added a FG right before halftime to give the Oiler's a 10-6 lead.
After a quiet 3rd quarter, and great defense, the Oiler's made a statemnet on a ten play 70 yard drive...The Oiler's ran the ball on all ten plays which was capped off by a 2 yard TD run from Brooke Payne making it 17-6...After an Oiler's sack and fumble recovery, the offense scored once again making the final 24-6...Ryan Myers hooked up with Will Price on a 15 yard pass.
Great defensive play was the key to this victory...Sacks from Chris Oates, Kev Holmes, and Joe Buckley highlited the victory...John O'Brien, Norm Burns, and Jermaine Woods all had a good game....Bryant, Tom Schneider and Frank Gaudette ran for well over 100 yards behind the offensive line rotation of Pete Hogan, Kevin Clark, Brian Burns. Pierre Joseph, TD Thompson, Karl Wells, and Kevin Boyle...Matt Trainor and Brian Gallo both had big first down catches...Special teams played excellent again

Oilers-24 Seminoles-8
RANDOLPH-24 HYDE PARK-8
In what was been their best defensive effort this season, the Oilers beat a good Hyde Park team to bring them above .500 for the first time this season...Allowing only a TD and 2pt conversion in the final 20 seconds, the Oilers defense turned in a solid performance with out even causing any turnovers...Colby Gallagher had the lone sack and led a hard hitting attack along with John O'Brien, Jermaine Woods and Merrick Johnson...Dan Carroll, Joe Buckley, and John Taylor shut down the Seminole defense while Tony V, Chris Oates, Billy Mallory and Tony Goodwyn got into the backfield all day disrupting both the run and passing game.
Clavin Brynat, who won offensive player of the week honors, rushed for 2 TDs and over 100 yards on the ground...The offensive line led the way behind Matt Stokes, Kevin Clark, Brian Burns, Pierre Joseph, Pete Hogan, TD Thompson and Kevin Boyle...Will Price and Brian Gallo, who played well both ways, had big receptions from Ryan Myers.
frank Gaudette also ran the ball well and earned special teams POW for his numerous tackles on kickoff and punt teams...The scoring started when Bryant ran in from the 9 latr in the first quarter and Dave canavan's EP gave the Oilers a 7-0 lead...Brooke Payne then scored midway through the second quarter from about 10 yard line...Canavan's EP and field goal to end the half gave the Oilers a comanding 17-0 halftime lead...After a long Seminole drive that staled at the oilers own 8, Randolph went 92 yards and took 11 minutes off the clock before Bryant pounded it into the endzone from 7 yards away...The drive took up the last half of the 3rd quarter and almost 5 minutes into the fourth, proving this year's team can play old-time oiler ball and crontrol the clock while doing so
