The South Eastern Youth Basketball Organization (SEYBO) is a non–profit organization that governs and coordinates the youth basketball program, organizes tournaments, competitions, championship events, adopts, and enforces rules and regulations, develops schedules and administers the needs of our members. We are a “child” program of the Hopewell Area Recreation and Parks (HARP) organization. We are also affiliated with two travel team programs, the York Youth Basketball League and the York Youth Area “B” League.
Currently SEYBO offers basketball programs for players in grades 1 through 8 who reside in South Eastern School District. The organization is run entirely by volunteers, from board members all the way down to our coaches. Anyone who is interested in getting involved is strongly encouraged to do so!
PRACTICES:
Practices are held at one of our local schools – Kennard-Dale H.S., SEMS West, SEMS East, Fawn and Stewartstown Elementary for example – and are generally 90 minutes in length. Teams will practice once or twice a week on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday evenings.
GAMES:
Our Travel teams will play home games on most Saturday afternoons. They will also play away games throughout the York County area on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. The Community rec teams will play games Saturday mornings at KD or SEMS West. The games tentatively start the first weekend in December.
ALSO:
- Each team will have one or two adult coaches.
- Everyone who registers will receive a team T-shirt.
- Everyone participates in all practices and games.
- The leagues run through February, but there are no practices or games during the Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s holiday vacations.
