Rampage 2011-12 Results
Rampage 17u - Coach Nancy Hopper's team picked up right where they left off last season by winning all of their matches at the OVA Power Tournament 1. After only 3 practices, newly added players Lauren Fessler and Sophia Xang stepped in made an immediate impact and Molly Higgins did a great job filling in at libero. Following two match victories over OVA teams, the girls lost the first set to a tough Ocean Breeze 17-2 team and then found themselves down late in the third set. But after a time out, the entire team rallied to pull out a 15 - 13 victory.
MLK Showcase Invitational - The Rampage 15u,16u, 17u teams, each made very successful debuts at their first tournament of the year. Rampage 16u improved everyday on their way to the Gold Division, finishing 3rd overall in the largest division of the tournament. Rampage 15u debuted with Coach Allie Riley and marched into the Gold Division finishing tied for 9th place. Rampage 17u were Gold Champions in the 17 Club Division. They finished the tournament with 7 wins and only 1 loss. Way to go!!
Disney AAU Classic - The Rampage 15u, 16u, & 17u teams, all made their way into the Gold Division finishing 9th, 5th, and 5th. Early season jitters lead to some anxious matches but all will turn it around for the rest of the 2011 season.
OVA Asics Inviational - The Rampage 16u & 17u teams each found success. Rampage 16u were solid finishing tied for 5th. Rampage 17u made its Open Division debut playing it's best volleyball of the year making it into the Gold Division.
OVA 1-Day - The Rampage 15u team earned its first medal of the year. They finished undefeated on their way to a Championship. Jax Jam - The Rampage 16u & 17u teams headed North to Jacksonville and came back successful. Rampage 16u tied for 3rd place in the Gold Division and the Rampage 17u finished in 5th place in the Open Gold Division.
Colorado Crossroads - Rampage 17u had the time of their lives in the Rocky Mountains of Denver Colorado. After a cross-country flight, many of the girls got to experience snow for the first time by having snowball fights at 10,000 feet. The entire team and parents took a scenic horseback ride through the mountains while navigting tight trails, stopping only for an outdoor steak dinner. But the best part of all was the volleyball. Rampage 17u played its best volleyball of the season on its way to a 6-2 record and a 9th place finish in the American Gold Division.
Cloverleaf - Rampage 15u and 16u were not to be outdone. Rampage 16u finished 3rd in the Silver Division while the Rampage 15u won the Bronze Championship.
Tampa Molten Pre-Qualifier - Rampage 15u and 16u found success in Tampa. Rampage 16u finished 5th in the Gold Division. Rampage 15u's favorite color was Gold as they finished the weekend undeafeated earning the tile of Gold Division Champions!!
Florida Bid Championship - Rampage 15u, 16u, & 17u took on the task of the Bid Championship. Rampage 15u found its way into the Bronze Division and the Rampage 16u played its way into the Silver. Rampage 17u bounced back from a tough Saturday to win the Silver Championship defeating Tribe 16u Gold in the finale.
Tampa United Slam - Rampage 15u, 16u, & 17u played almost flawless volleyball in Ta
mpa. Rampage 15u earned a hard-fought 3rd place in the Gold Division. Rampage 16u were runners-up in the Gold Dvision Championship. Rampage 17u rode an undeafeated weekend to win the Gold Divsion Championship, a repeat of its win last year.
AAU Regional Grand Prix - Rampage 15u & 16u played their way into the Gold Division. Rampage 15u finished 9th and the Rampage 16u finished 5th in Gold.
USAV Regional - Rampage 15u , 16u, & 17u wrapped up the 2011 regular season with strong showings in the Gold Division. Rampage 15u won a Saturday tie-breaker to break into the Gold Division. Rampage 16u was undefeated Saturday and lost their morning Gold Division match in 3 tough sets. Rampage 17u fought its way into the Gold Division and did not disappoint finishing 3rd.
