Ramona Girls Softball: What's New from RGS
12U Tryouts for API Tournament in Glendale, AZ
RGS has formed a 12U team to compete in the API Tournament 19-21 December 2009 in Glendale, AZ.
Good news for those players who wished to try out for the team but couldn't make it to tryouts on Saturday! We will be holding open practices this week for any player who still desires to try out for the team. Open practices will be on RGS Field 2 on
Monday, 16 November, 4:30pm
Tuesday, 17 November, 5pm
Wednesday, 18 November, 5pm.
After Wednesday's practice, the coaching staff will make a determination regarding the girls who attended the open practices. If a new player is a good fit with the current team, she may be invited to join. At most one new player will be selected from the open practice attendees.
The latest word we've gotten is that there are about 7 teams registered for 12U "B" and "C" recreational leagues (RGS is a "C" league), but none from California. This is your chance to represent the entire state of California in an Arizona ASA tournament!
Tryouts are open to any interested RGS player who was born after 1January 1996.
This is a GREAT opportunity for our players to participate in a big out-of-state tournament. Don't miss out! .
Players will be responsible for their share of the tournament fee ($450) unless a sponsor can be found. Players will also be responsible for their own food and lodging.
There is also a clinic available to the team ($250) or individual girls ($25). Again, if no sponsor is found, each player will be responsible for their share of the clinic if the team desires to participate.
If you have any questions, please contact Don McKay.Wednesday, October 21
Warning to Speeders on Aqua Lane
There have been lots of complaints about speeders on Aqua Lane between the RGS Softball fields and the Pony Baseball fields. Police will be patroling the area more regularly, so please drive the speed limit.

RGS Snack Bar Broken Into
During the early morning of Tuesday, 22 Sep 09, the RGS Snack Bar was broken into. The thiefs stole our cash registers, our safe, about $600 cash, and some food. They also broke the front window of the Snack Bar. RGS is a non-profit organization, and replacing the cash and equipment will be difficult. If anyone has any information on this crime, please contact the Ramona Sheriff's Office at 760-788-2250.

Credit Cards
We have brought the ability to use credit cards to RGS this year. This will allow anyone to pay for registration or snack bar items thought the regular, tournament and winter ball season. We have also planned to bring in a regular season t-shirts, coffee mugs, and other items to improve our fund raising efforts! We are very excited about this and look forward to a successful fundraising for 2009. When using your debit or credit cards there will be a small fee to cover expenses, keeping our cost down and allowing more money to go back to the kids…
Thank you for your support we look forward to a successful year!
