U-12, U-13 AND U-14 TRY-OUT INFORMATION UPDATE
We still have open positions for U-12s, U-13s and U-14s
We will have a Make Up Try-Out for the U-12, U-13, and U-14 age groups on Sunday November 8 from 1:00 to 5:00 at Cedar Valley Community School in Lynnwood (address & directions under location tab). Please contact Cheryl to make arrangements to attend this Last Chance Try-Out for our U-12, U-13 and U-14 teams.
We are getting closer to the try-out dates and many of you that want to attend try-outs might not have time to get all your paperwork sent in. You have the following options:
1. You may continue to register online (make sure your email default setting is for the email (i.e. hotmail, outlook, etc.) that you like to use regularly; otherwise it will want to try to send through an account that might not be setup. If you cannot get the online registration to work for you, send an email to Cheryl and let her know you will be attending try-outs.
2. After registering online, or sending the email; print off the paperwork and bring with you to try-outs along with a check for $20.003. We will also take walk up registration. You will be ahead of the game if you can print off the registration forms and complete prior to walking up. The cost will be $25.00 for walk up registrations.
U-15, U-16, AND U-17/U-18 TRY-OUT INFORMATION UPDATE
Do not wait to register and get your paperwork sent in. If you have problems with the online registration, please download the forms and mail to Cheryl. (Do not mail 2 days before try-outs as we need your paperwork at the try-out.) You may also send Cheryl an email that you are sending in registration forms. All the instructions and mailing information is available on the forms you download.
We will take walk up registrations, but the fee will be $25.00. It is also recommended that if walking up, you have paperwork downloaded and filled out as it will make the line go faster.
LATEST TRY-OUT UPDATE ……. November 6, 2009 …..
We just received notice that a gym has become available for try-out time during the week. This year many club try-outs are over the weekend and at the same time. We have moved try-out dates, times & locations for the teams that have the most conflict with other club try-outs to give everyone that wants to play on a club team the opportunity to try-out for more than one club. Please note the change to our try-out schedule below:
TRY-OUT DATES CHANGED FOR U-14 and U-17 AGE GROUPS:
U-14 November 4 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Canyon Park Junior High School
U-17/18 November 18 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Canyon Park Junior High School
ADDTIONAL ROUND OF TRY-OUTS:
U-14 & Under November 8 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Cedar Valley Gym, Lynnwood
U-15 & U-16 November 22 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Cedar Valley Gym, Lynnwood
U-17/18 November 22 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Cedar Valley Gym, Lynnwood
Rain City will use the additional round of try-outs to fill positions on teams that might have been declined during the first round of the try-out process. Coaches will invite all prospects back on the above dates to finalize their team. Please note that there is no early signing date except for Incumbents. November 23 is the official signing date (November 9th for U14s and under).
TRY-OUT PROCEDURE:
· Parent(s) should plan to be at the start of the try-out for a brief parent meeting. Also during the try-out a coach might want to talk with a parent and the athlete.
· During the try-out, players will be put through a series of drills and scrimmages to evaluate their skills.
· Coaches will offer a position on the team to players the day of the try-out. Teams will carry 12 players.
· Coaches will let players know if they are an alternate the day of the try-out.
· An incumbent (a player that was part of the Rain City family in the 2009 season) can accept the position offered the day of the try-out.
· Players that did not play for Rain City in the 2009 season, can verbally commit to a position offered, but must wait until November 23 to officially sign the contract (November 9th for U14s and under).
· Families will be given information about the Rain City signing process and how to secure your position, once they decide that Rain City is the club they wish to join.
· During this whole try-out process, players will verbally commit to a club and then try-out for another club and decide to play for that club. That is why Rain City offers positions to alternates as well as deciding to have the additional round of try-outs.
LATE BREAKING NEWS regarding Try-Outs!!!!!!!
Rain City will have a U-12 team for girls in 5th and 6th grade. We will combine the try-out for this team with the U-13 try-outs on Saturday, November 7 at 1:30 to 5:30 at Cedar Valley Gym. However, with any age group, if you cannot make the try-out for your age group, please contact Cheryl and make other arrangements.
