This will be Mike Jones first official season as an assistant coach in the USAV, although he has been supporting his wife and step-daughter in club volleyball for the past 7 years.
Mike has lived in Snohomish County his entire life. He was a star basketball player during his career at Cascade High School. Mike continued to elevate his game at Edmonds CC, then moved on to play at the University of Alaska at Fairbanks. In recent years he has been a member of the Snohomish County Explosion minor league pro basketball team, capping the 2009 season with an appearance in the IBL All-Star game. He was invited to play in the 2009 Jamal Crawford summer Pro-Am league, where he again ended the season as a member of the All-Star team.
Mikes basketball experiences will easily translate to the volleyball court. He has spent the last eight years volunteering as a coach for youth sports programs with the YMCA and Boys and Girls Club. His prior volleyball experience includes coaching with the USYVL outdoor league for Edmonds Parks & Rec. He is excited to be assisting with the 13's team this season.
