How Old Do You Have To Be To Play Football and/or Cheer?   Pop Warner allows children from 7 to 15 years of age to play football and cheer.

Who Decides What Level My Child Plays At?   Pop Warner Football places players by age and weight. (Please refer to the official age and weight chart on this site.)

What Leagues Do Children Play Football and Cheer At?       H.A.Y.F.& C.,Inc. offers A-Midget, B-Jr. Midget, C-Pee Wee, D-Jr. Pee Wee and E-Mitey Mites.

When can I register my Child to play football or cheer?    Registrations will be held in January 2009.

What do I need to bring to registration night?      Registrations will be online for the first time for the 2009 season.

When Do Practices Start?   Practices usually begin on the first Monday in August. The 2009 Practice Season will begin Monday, August 3rd.

Where Are Practices?   We practice at Stone Park and Mindess Elementary School in Ashland for the pre-season. The locations will be finalized at a later date based on Field Constrictions.

When is Practice?    Practices are Monday through Thursday from 5:30pm to 7:30pm in August. When the season begins, it will be 2 weeknights and a Saturday, (These days and times are subject to be changed by the League or the Coach.)

When Do The Games Begin?   The Regular 2008 Game Season may begin on Labor Day Weekend, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, September 5th, 6th or 7th.

If I missed the registration period, can I still sign up my child for football or cheerleading?    Yes, but late registrations will be put on a waiting list.

Do I need my child's original Birth Certificate?    If your son or daughter has never played for H.A.Y.F.&C.,Inc., We must have the Original and a photocopy. If your son or daughter has played for H.A.Y.F.&C.,Inc., we only need a photocopy.

Does my son/daughter need a physical to play football or cheer?       Yes, The Physical must be done within the calendar year of the season. (Example: 2006 Season, the physical must have a date within the year 2006.) If the physical was done in the previous year and is less than 365 days old, you must obtain a doctor's note stating that your son/daughter is physically fit to play.

What is paperwork night?    An evening in June where you must bring the following information to the league. Report Card, Medical Release, Current Physical, Sportsman Code of Conduct and Birth Certificate (original and/or copy).

What if I am missing some paperwork?      Your son/daughter can not participate in any type of activity until it is all turned in.

I turned in my Child's Original Birth Certificate, do I get it back.    Yes, all Original Birth Certificates will be returned at the end of the season.

I want my child moved to another team with his/her friend/neighbor?    No.

I haven't heard what team my son/daughter is on and his/her friends have?      Be patient, we are all volunteers and have to work. If you have not heard anything, please send an email at the CONTACT US Page.

What if my son/daughter can't make some of the practices in August due to vacation?    More than likely he/she cannot start contact practices and/or games until the minimum conditioning time is met.

What if my player can't make equipment day?    It is imperative that you do so that your football player gets the proper fitting equipment necessary to play. Board Members and coaches are the only ones allowed to fit equipment to your player.

Why do I need to pay a deposit for equipment and uniforms?    Every year, more than a dozen sets of uniforms and equipment doesn't make it back. The cost to replace is usually more than what is was when bought. Instead of raising fees to buy replacement equipment, let the people who don't return it pay for it.

What if my player can't make the Master Weigh In?       Players that are not weighed in on the Master Weigh In Day can not participate in any games until his/her weight is certified. PLEASE let your coach know about this ASAP.

What days are the games on?    A majority of games are played on Sundays. Some games can be played on a Saturday too. Due to reasons beyond the control of HAYF&C, Inc. Game schedules are done by the Hockomock League and we adjust to that.

What time are the games?    All League Home Games, the times are, A and E1 @ 9:00am, B and E2 @ 10:30am, C1 @ 12:00pm, C2 @ 1:30pm, D1 @ 3:00pm & D2 @ 4:30pm. Away game times do differ, please check with your coach before every game. All times are finalized by a Hockomock League Referee Schedule the beginning of the game week.

What is the difference between the Home Team and Away Team in the League?         When there are more players than a roster will allow, teams are split evenly. One team will be the Home Team and the Other is the Away Team. When the League is Home. More than likely all teams play at home. When the League is Away, The Hosting League may only have one team to our two. So the Home Team would play there and the Away Team could play someone different at a different location. (Example: We are Away in Bellingham, we have 2 D teams, they have only 1. The Home Team or D1 Team plays Bellingham and the Away Team, D2, goes somewhere else to play. This is arrainged by the Hockomock League.

When do the Mites (E Teams) Play?      The home team will schedule game times. No games will be scheduled before 9:00am and after 4:30pm. On Sunday morning games, the Mites must be off the field by 10:25am (Unless they play on a separate field). Games may be scheduled on Saturday with league approval. League Presidents will confirm times ASAP after the Mite schedule is handed out.

Who keeps the official score of a Mites (E Teams) game?          No one. There is no scoring kept by anyone. This is INSTRUCTIONAL FOOTBALL. These games are to learn the game and to have FUN. There are no winners, losers, or playoffs.

How many coaches are on the field for Mites (E Team) games?         One coach will be allowed on the field for each team. When the ball is ready to be snapped, the coach must be 5 yards behind the deep back. All coaches will be off the field after Week 4.

Once the coaches are off the field after week 4 for Mites (E Teams), Do they yell from the sidelines?          NO! Yelling and screaming will not be tolerated from the coaches on the field or sidelines. Reprimands and suspensions will be handed out for any violation reported.

What is an MPR?         Minimum Play Roster. All Teams must fill our a MPR Form. 2 Representatives (parents) from each team are needed to do this. One must go to opposite side of the field and fill out the form for the opposing team, while one of their Reps. monitor him/her. The other must monitor the other Rep. that will fill out the MPR for your team on your side of the field.

Why can't my son wear the fancy dark visor I bought for him?       Helmet visors must be clear with the only exception a doctor's note and approval from the H.A.Y.F.& C. ,Inc. The refs have been informed to have any illegal visor removed.

Why can't my son wear the pretty mouth guard I bought him?       Mouth guards must be attached with a strap. The only exception is one that is special fitted from an orthodontist. If a players does not have a proper mouth piece he will be asked to leave the game until corrected, a second offense will be a charged a time out.
