Ninjas Invade Powerzone!
The RAC Ninja’s finished on top at their first Fall League Tournament Friday at Powerzone. For many of the players, this was their first tournament experience, as well as being Coach Williams coaching debut.
The Ninja’s jumped ahead quickly winning 2 straight matches against Madison-2 and the Allegro Lions. Serving was flawless, with each player registering multiple Aces for a total of 37 during the 2 matches.
Final pool play match pitted the Ninja’s against the Allegro Gophers. Losing their first game of the night 17-16, the Ninja’s were able to shake off the loss and come to win the next 2 games 15-7 and 11-5, to win the match and finish 1st in our pool.
With an automatic bye in the first round of the finals, we had to face the Allegro Huskies, a tough team, who also finished 1st in their pool with a perfect 6-0 record. Once again, we started off slowly losing game one 16-14. The Ninja’s pulled it together with strong second game win 15-10. It all came down to a third game to 11 to decide the tournament 1st place winner. Both teams matched each other until the score was 5-5 before the Ninja’s gave it everything they had and overtook the Huskies 11-7.
Congratulations to Kacie, Sarah, Eileen, Mikayla, Rita, Ally, Lindsay, & Courtney for a fantastic night of volleyball!
