FAQ:
Q: How does this tie in with Community Ed Basketball?
A: There are 2 scenarios that may happen at each grade and gender level
1. There are enough players to form 2 teams. In this scenario, the Community Travel team will play in the Waconia league, just as it has for the past several years. The Metro Travel team will enter into weekend tournaments in and around the metro area.
2. There are not enough players to form 2 teams. In this scenario, tryouts will still be held for the Metro Travel team. Those players that make the Metro Travel team will begin practice in late October and enter a few tournaments in November. Once the Community Travel (Waconia League) schedule starts, the Metro Travel team would play that schedule, and be joined by any player that didn't make the Metro Travel team. Once the Community Travel season is over, the Metro Travel team would play 2-3 additional tournaments before wrapping up the season.
Q: How will the Metro Travel team rosters be determined?
A: There will be tryouts held in early October to form teams. The final roster will be posted to www.rockfordball.com.
Q: What can be expected at the tryouts?
A: Players will be evaluated on the following: ball handling, shooting, passing, defense, speed, as well as skills fundamental to the game of basketball.
Q: How will the coaches be determined?
A: During registration, indicate on the form that you are interested in coaching, you will be contacted for further information.
Q: Does the Metro Travel Basketball Schedule conflict with the school basketball schedule for grades 7 & 8?
A: No, the Metro Travel schedule will compliment the school season.
