Tuesday, April 1 Summer Student Employment Grant Service Canada has approved an application for Quinte Legion Track and Field Club to hire a Summer Student as an Assistant Coach for Track and Field and Cross Country. The employment period will be during July and Aug for 6 weeks at 30 hrs per week and $8.75 per hour. There are certain criteria to be met. The successful applicant (Grade 10-12) must be a registered competitive member of our Club and the OTFA. He/she must have proven leadership skills in working with youth, maintain good health and safety practices, and not have another part time job at the same time for more than 30 hrs/week. Under Quinte Legion Coaching supervision, Summer Student Employment involves assisting QLTFC Coaches by attending regular and special practices, running up to long distances with club athletes on the track and Cross Country, leading warm up drills and training sessions, preparation of training facilites, taking out and returning equiment before and after practices, leader at T&F and Cross Country Camps, preparation of entries for meets, attending meets, organization and warmup for athletes at meets, assisting officials at meet events, recording results and writing articles, and other tasks as assigned.
