12U Games in Frankfort April 19th
Queens 12U team did not fair as well as 13U team did. Losing first game to Lapel 29-26, in Overtime, then getting a good thumping from Indiana Warriors 54-7 and coming back with a 29-24 loss to Crown Point. Girls just did not come out ready to play. To much standing around, throwing ball away and letting much shorter girls out rebound us. Girls did come back from 10-20 deficit in last game to make it respectfull.
Leading in scoring for day was Ashley Lacy 16 points, Ashley Smith 12, Telisha Morgan 8, Amanda Gaskin 7, Allana Johnson 6, Amanda Ashcraft 4, Alaina Coplin and Janie Dickerson 2 each.
Girls have a lot of work to do in a very short time before AAU Regional. Just hope they can get serious about the game.

Jordan Hervey Recognized for academic achievment
Jordan Hervey a Anderson South Side student, has been recognized for academic achievementas a United States National Honor Roll Award winner. Her name will appear in the United States Acievement Acadamy Official Yearbook, which is published nationally.
She is the daughter of Karen Rehmel of Anderson. Her grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. James Rehmel of Anderson and Mrs. Betty Morrison of Traverse City, Michigan.
(From Anderson Herald/Bulletin May 25th, 2003)
THIS IS GREAT JORDAN, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK, LOU

Players are expected to commit to attend practice on a regular basis and help to contribute to the teams development. Teams practice twice per week for two hours at a time. Sites for practice are determined by each coach. Some of the facilities used in the past include: Bethany Christian Church, Westvale School, Anderson Sports Center.
Because of the competitive nature of AAU basketball their are no guarantees of playing time. Most every player will get some playing time every game. How much playing time a player receives is dependent upon that players commitment to practice and abilities.
As a parent, you want the best for your child. Our coaches also want the best for your child. In order for this to occur, it is important that parents - no matter how basketball knowledgeable they might be, refrain from coaching their child in practices and games. The coach has all the player's interests in mind. It is always uncomfortable for a coach to remove a player from a game because she is acting upon her parent's coaching rather than fulfilling the expectations of the team and coach. A parent needs to be positive at all time and cheer on every member of the team. Any questions concerning coaching should be brought to the coach's attention in a private conversation without children present.
All parents and players are needed and expected to provide assistance at tournaments hosted by the Queens of the Court. They are needed to run scoreboards, run concessions, oversee gyms, and other such matters. When Queens has a Hamburger fry, or sells items everyone is expected to help. These are very important as these things provide the additional funds required to attend tournaments, buy uniforms and other items.
While at away tournaments, the parent or their designee is responsible for their daughter at any time the player is not at their game.
The girls qualification age for AAU will depend on the year you were born on Jan 1.

"The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little extra."
