WOW WHAT A GREAT YEAR FOR QUEENS!!
WOW!!!!!! WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THAT A SMALL PROGRAM LIKE QUEENS OF THE COURT WOULD HAVE SUCH A GREAT YEAR.
The 13U team lost two starters and a top reserve but came back to finish 6th in State. Picked up some talented young ladies to fill those spots. Great job by girls and coaching staff, Sim, Bruce Eric and Emily.
Then by forming a 11u team this year took away a lot of backcourt strength from 12U team, but with the addition of some new girls and some of the other girls stepping up their game, and the help of some dedicated people added to coaching staff, the 12U team was able to qualify for Level 1 State, which is one real pleasant surprise. The 12U finished 15th in State level 1.
The 11U team started the year with very little height but also added some girls, with others stepping their game up, which made it possible for them to go to Level 1 State finishing 7th.
And what about those Winchester Hawks who are a part of Queens coming through in the Randolph County Tourney and the Lynn Tourney as well as their success in the 3 on 3 tourneys Great Job ladies. Looking forward to continuing our relationship, with you great young ladies and your family's.
I am very proud of all these girls, coaching staff, parents and sponsors and every one who helped with the program.
A GREAT BIG THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TO ALL THE MOTHERS AND FAMILIES WHO GAVE UP SO MUCH OF THEIR TIME TO HELP WITH THE PROGRAM, BECAUSE WITHOUT THOSE OF YOU WHO STEPPED UP TO THE PLATE TO HELP THERE WOULD NOT BE THE PROGRAM AS IT IS.
THANKS VERY MUCH FOR A WONDERFUL YEAR.
A VERY PROUD PRESIDENT OF QUEENS OF THE COURT

By David F. Nelson "The Herald-Bulletin"
Anderson's Sim Lacy is doing something right. After only coaching girls basketball for a few years, he's managed to lead his team to a third consecutive AAU national tournament appearence.
Lacy a 40-year-old father of four, watches players from his team, Queens of the Court, during a recent basketball camp held at Anderson Sports Center. The girls are preparing for nationals in Orlando.
While one of the players, Kyla Lacy, 14, is his daughter, Lacy isn't hesitant to brag about each player as if he were "Dad" to them all.
"They are a great group and all extremely talented. At other national tournaments, I have had other coaches come up and tell me we have one of the best backcourts in the country." said Lacy, who started his coaching career 22 years ago with youth baseball.
Fortunately for Lacy, his other three childern, Jordan, 15, Kaydee, 12, and Jacob 11, all play sports.
"It's busy coaching, but I get a chance to see them all participate." said Lacy.
When Lacy doesn't have a whistle around his neck while running practices, he can be found at Bob Myers Buick.
"I can't say enough about how great they have been with me to allow a flexible schedule to coach. It's wonderful of them," he said.
Also wonderful is an understanding wife Amy, who has the challange of keeping tabs on all four atheletic children, and a busy husband.
"I couldn't do this without her," said Lacy.
A former athlete himself, Lacy lettered in football and baseball at Anderson High School. He tries to apply positive reinforcements into his coaching techniques.
"I think what makes a good coach is someone who "looks at the glass half full" and tries to work with the players to help improve them," said Lacy. "The player may not be great in an area but is willing to put the time in and work very hard. I enjoy helping them to do that."
It's his smooth, kind manner that seems most appreciated by Lacy's players.
"He's a great coach, who makes practice and playing fun," said Jo-Jo Kelly, who plays for the 13-year-old Queens of the Court.
Kelly's teammate Megan Dillard agreed: "He is willing to help us to be better. Certain parts of my game needed improvement and he was willing- and patient-to help me do that."
Because of the commitment the girls make to the sport-they play most of the year-Lacy said they have to enjoy the experience as much as they learn from it.
"He does a great job with that. He takes even parts of practice, that could be boring and makes it alot of fun," said Kyla Lacy.

14u Fund Raisers
Coach Sim did well with the help of Lori Carter, Karen Rehmel, Doug and Cindy Gause, Dave Coplin and Lou Lacy in the driving rain at Harvest selling hamburgers Friday.

With Parents Cindy Gause, Dana Kleinbub, Donetta Day, Jessica Troutman's Grand Mother Penny Brown and Great Grand Mother, Sim and Amy Lacy along with Queens Jordan Hervey, Chelsea Land, Raven Ivey, Jessica Troutman, Kyla Lacy, Liz Kleinbub, Megan Dillard, Katie Day, and Erica Gause.
On Saturday at Harvest hamburger sale the 14U had another good day selling burgers. Parents Sim Lacy, Eric Carter, Paula McElroy, Kim Land, Becky Maddox, along with Queens Chelsea Land, Deja Maddox, Erica Gause, Megan Dillard, Raven Ivey, Jessia Troutman and Kyla Lacy all done a tremendous job!
A Huge Thanks From Coach Sim for all the help.
Remember the more money raised the more games and tournaments the girls will be able to play in.

PIZZA SALE A GREAT JOB BY YOUNG LADIES
BIG THANKS TO RON AND TWILA JONES ALONG WITH THE 12U PLAYERS AND PARENTS WHO HELPED OUT. The Pizza Sale was a great job, as everyone knows the 12U team was in the hole from trip to Orlando in July, but with the job done by those involved they are very near out of the hole and into sunlight.
Also a HUGE THANKS TO Stevie and Scott for loaning the Association the money so the girls were able to make the trip. Now this group can go about getting ready for Tennessee this year.
AGAIN GOOD JOB BY EVERYONE INVOLVED BOTH SELLING, WORKING AND DONATING. GREAT GROUP OF PEOPLE WHO SHOULD BE VERY PROUD OF WHAT THEY DID.

Queens 16U team wins tourney
Queens 16U team got off to a great start winning the Anderson Sports Center 16U tourney. Great job by these girls and Coach Dean Riddle after only being together for a few weeks and this being their first game experience.
The Queens easily disposed of Indiana Threat in first game, then losing in second game. They came back to win the next three games to win the championship.
CONGRATULATIONS COACH DEAN AND GIRLS
The 14U team also played in this tourney, Although they went 0-4, they made a good showing, losing three of the four gmaes by less then 10 points to girls who were two years older.
Good job Coach Sim and 14U girls.

Queens get good start in Regionals
The Queens Association got off to a good start with 13U winning first game over Shelby Gold 41-32 at Connersville Friday night. Great job girls and keep up the good work.
Thw 13U girls fell on some hard times Sat. losing both games, with the second game being a heartbreaker as they were playing Hancock Co. even until Alesha Prince got into foul trouble. Queens ended up losing game 40-33 and now play Indiana's Finest Sunday.
The 12U team had better luck beating Shelby Fury 56-36, Rushville 42-31, Shelby Select 44-20, before falling to Eastern Indiana Wolfpack
59-24 for 1st place
The 13U should advance to Division 2 State playing loser of 2nd place cross pool game at Terre Haute. 13u State will bre held at Plainfield with 13U playing @ 9:00Pm Friday May 7th.
Friday, May 14
QUEENS 12U AT STATE
The Queens 12U team placed in a tie for 13th in State AAU in a very talented group of teams.
They were beaten in their first game 47-42 by Indiana Finest (Red) which ended up in 5th place. Then played Eastern In Wolfpack and lost 57-54 with this team ending up 6th.
It appears that the top 4 Teams should make a good showing at Nationals. The Wildcats won 1st place, beating Indiana Finest 46-37, third place went to The Family winning 65-64 over MBA. All four of these teams recruit heavily for AAU team with players from all over state playing.
Queens are one of the few teams which made it to level I state who do not go out and recruit like that, but basically an Anderson team with some other area girls involved.
So not a bad showing for Coach Jones and the girls, and keep up the good work at Division II Nationals in July.
THE SCORE ON INDIANA AAU SITE APPARENTLY IS WRONG AND SHOULD READ QUEENS 54, WOLFPACK 57 ON A DESPERATION SHOT AT THE HORN BY ONE OF THE WOLFPACK GIRLS.
Wednesday, May 19
13U State Tourney
The 13U team played hard but still came up short at State. Although losing four games it appears that this team is taking some steps forward.
The scores would indicate that defense is picking up which is a good sign of better things to come with these girls.
Queens 19- SW Storm 36, Queens 20- Bedford 36, Queens 0- Edgewood 13, after Coach Jim misread bracket and did not realize there was a game on Sunday.
Hopefully these girls will continue working over the summer and be able to come back next year and show more improvement.
President Lou

14U get off to rough start in Regional
The 14U team got off to a rough start with a 47-44 OT loss to Allen County Fever, Friday night. Queens had a chance with shot at end of regulation time but the shot hit back iron and bounced out as time ran out.
Tough times continued Sat as the Queens 14U team fell to Kokomo 43-38 before coming back Sat night to dispose of Logansport very easily.
very disapointing weekend for the girls and Coach Sim.
Allen county had beaten Kokomo by 10, and Kokomo had only beaten Logansport by 10+-.
Making things even tougher for Coach Sim, this was the first loss in Regional play for this team in the 5 years since it started.
Does this team go on to Division II Nationals, and will they be ready to compete?

Queen takes 1st place in Karaoke Contest in Nashville
Do we have another rising Country Singer in our midst? It appears that at least one of our girls can sing as well as play basketball.
I understand that Katelynn Hawkins won the Karaoke singing contest at the Wild Horse Saloon in Nashville, during the 12U AAU Div. II Nationals.
Maybe when she is in WNBA she can sing National Anthem before playing for Indiana Fever.
Great job Katelynn, might be something you want to look into as well as basketball.

Katelynn Hawkins wins Karaoke Contest in Nashville
Looks like one of our girls has some talent singing as well as playing basketball. Katelynn won a Karoake contest at the White Horse Saloon in Nashville while at the AAU dicision II Nationals, singing "Redneck Woman".
Sasha Solinski receives letter from Wright State
Sasha Solinski received a letter from Wright State saying that they saw her in Orlando and liked what they saw. Stated they would be keeping track of her progress for next couple of years.
Great news for a young lady who has worked hard for the past five years. Just shows that hard work and dedication pays off.
Sasha understands what needs to be done on the court, and does the fundamental things and is always hustling.
Wright State is a Division I school located in Dayton Ohio.
Great job Sasha.

Bre Foster Advances to Semi-State with 6th place finish
Like the Everyready Bunnie, Bre just keeps running, placing 6th in the Noblesville Regional. Bre will now go to the Franklin Central Semi-State. Bre had a time of 15:44 over a very tough course, just 22 seconds behind another Freshman from Westfield.
After coming in first at the Madison County Cross Country Meet, Bre Foster added the Pendleton Sectional to her list of success, with a winning time of 15:02. Good luck to Bre and the other Madison County girls.
Great job by a Freshman from Alexandria High.

Kyla Lacy receives letter from Ball State
Another Queens noticed by Division I college. Kyla received a letter from Ball State reference basketball after seeing her in Midwest Explosion at Warren Central Sept. 25.
Another good example of a girl who has worked hard for last 5 years, and that hard work is beginning to pay off.
Great job Kyla and I expect to see more Queens get letters within the next year. Especially those girls going to AAU Nationals.
The word is out, now we just have to show off the Queens.

Nellie gets letter from Wisconsin/Green Bay
Nellie Eskew received a letter from University of Wisconsin/Green Bay concerning possibly continuing her education in Wisconsin. Apparently Nellie was seen at the Gus Macker in Lafayette where she teamed with Kyla Lacy, JoJo Kelly and Paris Miles to win their division. On the way to the championship these girls beat a team which had won last years World Championship 3-3 tourney
Great job by these girls and congratulations to Nellie.
Hopefully this is just a start for things to come for our girls.

Ingrid Adcock on ACSI-State championship team
Ingrid and her Liberty Christian team mates win ACSI-State Jr High Championship in volley ball, with victorys over Kingsway Christian, Blackhawk Christian, and Lakewood Park.
Congratulations to Ingrid and the Liberty Christian girls on a great victory.

Deja Mattox joins girls getting letters
Deja Mattox joins the list of Queens receiving letters. She has received letters from Iowa, Indiana State, Valpo., Eastern Michigan, and Akron.
Deja also got letter from University of Illinois.
Another girl reaping the benefits from hard work and sticking with fundamentals.
Should be a very welcome addition to her high school team.
Mighty fine job Deja.
Saturday, October 23
Letters keep coming in as Liz gets letter from Wis. GreenBay
Liz Klienbub adds to the girls receiving letters from colleges as she received letter from Wisconsin-Green Bay.
Another compliment to the girls and the hard work they have put forth. Apparently the colleges are also impressed with the way our girls present themselves on the court as well as their playing ability.
Another great job by a young lady who joined us late, but has really worked hard to get to this position in her playing career.
Keep up the good work LIZ.
