Monday, June 12 Rain...Who Cares We Need $$$$$$
The Queens 11U car wash was held 6-10-06 ... yes, even while it was raining cats and dogs. In fact, we got most of our customers when it was a torrential ownpour.
We also sold candy bars, drawing tickets, hot dogs, pop and candy.
We are obviously doing absolutely anything we can do to try and raise money for our upcoming trip to Nationals in Branson, MO June 22 - 30th.
How Queens Began
THE QUEENS OF THE COURT were a dream of Coach Sim Lacy when his two daughters Kyla and Kaydee became involved in grade school basketball.
He felt they could improve on their skills by competing in AAU basketball.
THE QUEENS OF THE COURT name was an idea of Sim's wife Amy, with all of the girls agreeing that this was good.
The first assembly was at The Anderson Police Athletic Club, which soon became too small for the number of girls involved.
Practice's were moved to Bethany Christian Church and Westvale Elementary School.
They have evolved into this year 4 teams with over 60 girls playing.
Kyla Lacy, Deja Wills, Makeba Head, LaKeisha Noethtich won the 19 over division by going 7-0 in the Lafayette Gus Macker. They also all won the sportsmanship awards for the tourney.
