Quantico Wrestling Club: Welcome

 Quantico Wrestling Club 2009-2010 Season Registration Now CLOSED!

QWC is open to children ages 5-14 (K-8th grade) at all skill levels.  QWC primarily serves the military and interagency community in and around Quantico, VA, but civilians are also welcome.

 

Required Paperwork Registration forms can be downloaded from the HANDOUTS section. Registration and fees must be received by 12 November 2009 or a late fee will be applied and your wrestler will not be allowed to wrestle in the first meet (NVWF rules).

Required paperwork includes:

 ü    2009-2010 QWC Registration Basic Data Sheet

 ü    2009-2010 Quantico Hold Harmless Agreement

 ü    2009-2010 NVWF Emergency Permission/Waiver and Release Form

 ü    Copy of Participating Wrestler’s Birth Certificate

 ü    $100 Registration Fee – checks made payable to “Quantico Wrestling Club”

Fee Information The $100 registration fee incluces:

AAU wrestling card

NVWF registration fee for meets and tournaments

Insurance

Use of practice facility

QWC T-shirt

Loan of wrestling singlet for the season (must be returned)

Trophies, awards and end-of-season party 

  

Equipment

Wrestlers must provide their own:

·  Wrestling shoes (to be worn only on the mats at practice and meets, never on the street)

·  Head gear (required for all wrestlers at meets)

·  Practice clothes (shorts and T-shirt or wrestling singlet)

·  Water bottle   

Practice Schedule (12 November 2009 – 25 February 2010): Tuesday/Thursday, 6:00-7:30pm New Practice Location : Weapons Field Training Battalion ISMT Room.  Click Locations link to get directions.   

Meets and Tournaments: First NVWF meet weekend is 12/13 December 2009 (followed by holiday hiatus), with regular weekly meets running January through early March 2010.  For a complete schedule, check the Northern Virginia Wrestling Federation (NVWF) website at http://www.nvwf.net/. Wrestlers are matched by age, weight and experience. At each meet, wrestlers participate in a 2-4 match round-robin. The season wraps-up with a final, double-elimination tournament on or about 27 February 2010.
